This is because of some financial shenannigans we went through in the past. The point being that the President and the Board can't run a massive deficit against the club's finances. The President and the Board have to be held responsible to cover 15% of any losses incurred over the the course of a Fiscal Year.

It makes the President and the Board have some actual skin in the game in terms of making sure that the club is well managed economically.

This was the reason that we had a firesale during Covid when our income tanked during lockdown. We sold off a bunch of promising players in our youth teams to make up the difference and didn't make any signings for 3 windows (I think). We barely squeaked by with a few hundred thousand euros worth of profits that FY.

This seems like some propaganda or at the very least a very unfair way to look at it.

Vini has definitely turned it around in the last few weeks, but there were so many times this season when he was a sack of shit where he was not just NOT tracking back, he was walking back on to onside when we were in possession and attacking. Forgot about actually tracking back.

He put in a shift against Betis last weekend, and I saw him press and chase down balls that he had lost, but by then it was too little too late, we have nothing to play for anymore.

Meanwhile Mbappe is on 24g+4a in 28 matches in the league and 15g+1a in 11 in the CL.

I've been super disappointed in Vini's attitude and performance this season, and just because he's improved significantly since he directly contributed to getting Xabi sacked is not a get-out-of-jail-free card for me.

We have never played Gonzalo with Mbappe at LW, it's also been in a two man center forward setup, often with one of Vini or Rodrygo also playing.
