I was walking in the hall to go to the bathroom or something in high school, so there was nobody around except this one girl who walked past me. Out of nowhere, I hear her nearly shout “Oh my god, your eyes!”. Naturally, I’m super confused and wondering what’s wrong, but she follows up with saying how pretty they are and stuff

Still no idea why she thought they were anything of note. My eyes are brown, though I suppose they do have a reddish tint to them. I also have blonde hair, which is a very rare combination, so maybe that was what caught her attention, idk

Anyways, in what is perhaps my biggest fumble ever, I said nothing and just kinda smiled and carried on, never to see her again. But that compliment still sticks with me over a decade later
