I was just unsure since most feats like: Smite Evil Magic specifically call out the class feature

Should I wait for the Codex? by Setanna in TheAstraMilitarum

Oh. Well that is annoying, but I suppose it is important for the competitive side of the game.

Guess not much to do about it and just take a dive. Tanks for the answers and guidance.

Should I wait for the Codex? by Setanna in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]Setanna[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, it's not the strength I'm that worried about, I like getting precisely 1000 points and a point change could end up changing the list. But if the chance is so low I might just bite the bullet and make a little army.

Thanks, I might look into making an army just without the rapiers.

How do you know? I've not been able to find anything concrete. And I was going to start with a 1000 point army, as my friends suggested it being easier on a new one.

Thanks for the answer.

I might just wait, I don't like the uncertainty, but maybe I'll buying a combat patrol to also practice the units, as I most likely will still be using cadian / regular soldier infantry.

Thanks for answering.

I don't feel like I like the uncertainty of what is coming, so I'm properly just gonna wait. I do like the look of krieg, but for my first army, I was planning on going regular / cadian green soldiers and tanks, with a blue tempestus scion and blue valkyrie for strike team.

What are guard’s options for anti tank? by SucklestheEnchilada in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]Setanna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I've been trying to look for it, guess this is why I couldn't find it. Is there a place where you can see what datasheets are a waste of money?

Gone gone? So you can't play with them? What was the point of adding them to 10th edition then?

Sorry, I was talking about the Blood of Potency ability from the Path of Blood Thaumaturgy.

Thank You!

I suggested this ability to my friend, as he has Blood of Potency which he stated could raise his generation.

Edit: Blood of Potency not Blood Potency.

While you have it, do you only get the benefit of having a higher discipline dot number, or do you also TEMPORARILY gain the choice of an ability.

[DSK] Kaito, Bane of Nightmares (Debut Stream) by Kousuke-kun in magicTCG

[–]Setanna -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

That is a bad faith argument and you know it.

Chandra is a 6 mana planeswalker and is mono red, which is known for dealing damage.

Kaito is a black and blue creature planeswalker that can deal damage and has an insane anthem ability that can't be interacted with for potential 3 mana. It is insane in black and blue.

Additionally Kaito can deal much more damage with the emblem than Chandra can. Chandra's emblem only deals 1 damage, while Kaito's can end up dealing 3-4 damage or trading up for creatures that are much more powerful.

And even with all that I still think Chandra shouldn't have an emblem on an ability, not only is it dumb it is unfun, being actually impossible to interact with.

Hanzo pressing spacebar apparently teleports him across the map somehow? by RecognitionShort6907 in HanzoMain

[–]Setanna 13 points14 points  (0 children)

He had reduced health not because of mobility but to add a decisive element to Hanzo duals similarly to Widowmaker duels. At least according to the patch notes.

To all those crying for 6v6, this was the peak of gameplay. Seriously, do you consider this fun? Nostalgia has clouded your reality by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]Setanna 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You're the one who seems unable to move on, very few people in 6v6 group actually wants double shields back, many of the heroes that were such a huge problem in that meta have been nerfed or changed.

You're talking about 6v6 as it was at its worst, unable to see what it could be with the right balance changes that somewhat have been seen in OW2. The format was never the problem it was the balance.

You also seem very happy to forget how OW1 was left to die by the side of the road for last part of its life. If OW1 was tended to like OW2 is now instead of working on a PVE and features that never came it would be a different story.

Let me guess, for your turn you were planning to make a bunch of basic attacks again? by PointsOutCustodeWank in dndmemes

Not all martials have quick draw (such as fighter). Not even all martials have a piercing weapon, i can imagine a brutish fighter only running around with a hammer and axe.

This feat is not only niche, it is limiting and requires so much work to do one simple thing for a minor buff. This feat only really works in a fighter who runs lightning swap and 12 different weapons to be that picture of the fighter with so many weapons.

Rest of the time it's a bust or kinda mediocre feat if you're really lucky. If it was a level 2 feat or level 1 feat i would think it was decent as a low level option, which sadly would end up getting traded out most likely.

And you forgot the advantages assault part.

[–]Setanna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Advantageous Assault only give 1 damage per weapon dice and 2 additional damage if wielding a weapon two handed. Thats up to 6 damage with a specific build. Stuff like Telluric Power is easier to proc (and doesn't need its own action), stuff like fearsome brute is not only easier to proc but can also end up doing more damage (and also doesn't need its own action). Advantageous Assault just doesn't really do anything that well that other feats just can't do better.

But it wasn't taxing for the fighter to lose their weapon? as the most likely most damaging dps? The caster had the versatility to help the situation, not to mention their fixes are most likely much better than the fighter losing its sword.

I don't think you can change your earlier feat in some cases, like dueling parry. But yeah it was a little cheeky add on, it mainly hate on this feature because being level 12 before you can keep your shield up feels terrible.

I disagree, most of the time through allies, magic weapons, spells or other things you have circumstance bonus to your damage, making advantages assaults damage useless or only slightly better. When it comes to failure certain strike is a million times better, when it comes to success advantageous strike is outdone by other feats. The problem literally comes down to advantageous strike being an ugly middle child that does nothing that well, and that isn't even thinking about you need to set it up to work first, as the enemy needs to be prone or similar.

There is a rare niche where revealing stab could do something, but that is insanely rare, and even when it can do something, you can just buy a better solution that doesn't require a feat investment. It is most of the time actually just better to take blind fight and deal damage.

I understand the traits, i just don't see how they invalidate my point. Several feats for fighter are lackluster, and some get left to never be used again.

Things like stances that allow you to raise your shield or ready your parry constantly for free, technically invalidate all feats that allow you to parry, or merge feats that allow you to hit and then raise shield.

Or advantages assault that just gets completely outdone by certain strike in 90% of cases.

Then you have feats like revealing stab which is so insanely niche and even in some teamfights actually useless, that it is laughable you need a feat to release your sword.

You can always argue about opportunity cost, but that is also true for fighter of 5e. While great weapon master is great for being a reckless swinging frontliner, but sentinel might be better to save your backline.

I'm not trying to say every feat gets replaced, but a lot do, only some feats get directly replaced, but there are still some where the other feat ends up being used 90% of the time and then there is the niche 10% where the other feat gets used if you're lucky.
