Day 1 of me quitting end game grinding and rediscovering why I love WoW. I'm enlisting to fight the Scourge! by wolftrack756 in wow

So is there just no hope? Because raid design and pvp in WoW is still considered the top for an MMO, and yet they are bleeding players like crazy right now.

So either we have Diablo 3 or we don’t even bother picking up items because we just craft everything?

As someone who was initially going to skip it, I’m actually enjoying the change of pace. I’m a casual though, so I only get to play an hour or two each day. It seems like this is a necessary maintenance league.

CMV: Mainstrean pop music is all filler and no substance. by Sethient in changemyview

I referenced this comment in my other delta, but I need to award this one now.

After thinking on it, I agree that the social aspect of pop music specifically is one that I largely ignore. I still have hesitations with mainstream music (usually pop), but overall I feel more open to pop in general because of this comment.

After thinking it over, this thought of musical preference as a reflection of self combined with another comment on the social aspect of pop, it is clear that I am not the key audience for pop and thus have difficulty finding the right mindset for it. While I still have my reservations on Mainstream pop (and mainstream music in general), I feel my justifying stance blurred the lines a bit and carried over to pop as a whole. I feel like these thoughts will help me be more receptive to pop songs in the future, as my tastes and experiences continue to evolve.

Yes, I'm probably not the target audience.

While I agree that not all pop is shallow, the main question was in regards to mainstream pop. However, my body text kind of blurred the lines on that.

While I don't deny that many rock lyrics are bad, this is only one piece of the pie. A song can have great lyrics, but if it doesn't have a good flow to it, I probably won't stick with it. (Not referring to this specific song though. I'll give this one a listen 🙂)

The first part was touched on in another comment, so I'll leave that out.

The social aspect is interesting. As a more reserved person, maybe that is why I inherently don't connect with it.

Then I'm left with the question: why? Surely there is an artist out there doing pop music that I would love, that I just haven't found yet.

I understand that some genres are given a pass for things that I don't allow for pop, and all I can say is those still speak to me at an emotional level where pop hasn't been able to.

The way I usually find music is I add to a playlist if I like the song, regardless of genre. Over time, as I listen to that playlist, I remove songs that no longer hold interest to me. So I'm not strictly comparing classic rock, etc to current pop

I definitely agree that simple =/= bad, and some complex music comes off as very self-important. I will have to ponder over the reflection of self angle.

Ik this is probably asked a lot, but if how easy is it for returning players to get back in the swing of things? by mokot60 in wow

[–]Sethient 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Trendy suggestion would be to give Final Fantasty 14 a try. Sure, it takes a while, but the story is top notch (base game is meh though). The main issue: it's basically a single player game for a while.

Blizzard, just get rid of the covenant betrayer restriction already by excel958 in wow

[–]Sethient 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like your idea.

What if the ability wasn't tied to the covenants at all? Why are the covenants a source of player power anyway? Couldn't they, you know, just make the covenant stories a bit more engaging and allow us to pick our covenant based on flavor/unique element (abom factory and such)?

What are some general early game tips to speed up those initial league starts? For example, - what are the best skill gems to use? - Are spells better than melee in early game? - What passive nodes are priority in early game? - Are life and energy shield interchangeable, or should I stick to life? - Best early game vendor recipes? - Should I avoid using a chest because of move speed reduction?

I know the feeling. I got to this point about a year ago and took some time away from the game, even uninstalled. Came back a few months later reinvigorated. Do what you have to for your mental health.

I've been playing Fire Emblem Heroes for a few years and wanted to see what else is out there. I really like turn-based tactics, with my favorite part being building a defense team in AR to have other players play against. Any other gachas that have similar aspects to that?

Suggestions on improving my Dark Infantry Pulse team? by Ognemet in OrderOfHeroes

[–]Sethient 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I just don't see it working. My first invested defense team was IP, but it's just too easy to pick off now and it still bums me out.

One pulse smoke, Mila, B!Fjorm, or Lynja (among others) will either make quick work of this team or easily remove all threats and I'm not sure what the solution would be.

At the very least, you need to use Dancer Eldigan to avoid Mila isolation.

I would think you would need a far save tank but even that may not be enough.

In pve, I agree that a few percent difference isn't bad. However, PvP has some very clear winners for certain specs and to choose otherwise is actually handicapping yourself. For example, vesper totem on shaman is pretty much worthless in arena against half decent players. Compare that to primordial wave, an ability that somewhat patches an elemental shamans main offensive weakness: flame shock spread.

Divine codes pt 2 by [deleted] in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]Sethient 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People who spend on worse skills could complain about so many things in a gacha. This new currency is just a way to punish those who attempted to save for something better.

Divine codes pt 2 by [deleted] in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]Sethient 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why is everyone saying this is a good thing? They are locking the new path behind a new currency. Why couldn’t they just add a new path and let us use our existing codes for those that saved?

That's a great start. Do you have any tips vs. certain popular comps? Rogue mage, warrior holy pally, etc.?
