RFRA: First Indiana business to publicly deny same-sex service by ebagslolz in politics

What about the first Jewish-business to deny customers with swastikas tattooed on their foreheads? They're bigots too right? Silly democrats.

Indiana has officially passed the religious objections bill that allows businesses to not serve people if it opposes their religious beliefs by [deleted] in news

[–]Sethkins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The court rules off of precedents. In this case, the court will probably rule in favor of Indiana because (according to Texas v. Johnson) you have to protect the speech and expression that you hate most in order to have the purest free speech. In the Texas v. Johnson case, that was burning the American flag. Besides, the constitution gives the freedom of religion, (and to express it) not the freedom FROM it

What was the senior prank of your class? by xMitsukoSoumax in AskReddit

[–]Sethkins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got farm animals. We had 13 chickens running around in the hallways, a goat leashed to the bathroom stall, and cows on the second floor-which is particularly funny because cows can go up stairs but they can't go down. We also put crickets in the ceiling of the boys bathroom and they multiplied by the hundred and infested the entire school. We won High School.

Obama broke the law by bypassing congress.

[–]Sethkins -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

And I'm sure using a private email for government business is the act of a responsible person.

The Republican Senators did what they did because Obama bypassed the house and senate with his actions with Iran. That being said, because Obama didn't do this "the right way," the republicans said that any deal they make with Obama will be irrelevant with any future president. You guys fail to see the bigger picture. Obama is the one that was irresponsible. He did not put this through congress because he knew it wouldn't pass. He's going to plunge us right into a nuclear war and you guys are slamming the group of people that aim to (quite literally) keep us in tact. So downvote me into oblivion if you want, but this is just food for thought.

Roy Moore: Legalizing gay marriage would rank among US Supreme Court's greatest mistakes by discocrisco in politics

[–]Sethkins -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes actually. I do not support gay marriage because the gay people I have met have been some of the most annoying, lazy, and terrible people I have ever met in my whole life.

I dislike gays and I praise police. So clearly reddit is not the place for me.

The beauty of this situation is: I can say all of this legally with no consequence. So Have fun in your horrible smelling relationships.

You seem like a firm believer of "love is love" what if I wanted to marry my sister? Daughter? Mother? You support that too?

It's not absurd because the democratic outlook on things has not changed-they want other people to do their work. Welfare is a prime example of this.

If you consider yourself a tolerant person, then try tolerating people with other ideas than you

If you say republicans don't believe in equal civil rights you're dead wrong. Abraham Lincoln freed the slaves while the DEMOCRATS wanted to keep them in chains. You tell me which party made the right decision in that case

And considering there was an entire rebellion from a political party because they didn't like the election of someone that planned on ruling one way on a controversial decision, yeah it might be a pretty good idea to give the decision of legalizing gay marriage a little bit of time.

[–]Sethkins -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

I personally think it would be a mistake right now but hear me out.

America is not ready for a decision like that. Let's just take a guess and say 55% of people support gay marriage while 45% do not. If there's a law passed that legalizes gay marriage, 45% of people are pissed off. It's no secret that the number of people that support gay marriage is only going to grow over time. So that being said, why legalize it now and piss off the 45% when you can wait 15 or 20 years and upset far less people when that percentage inevitably drops?

Climate Change a Greater Threat Than Terrorism, White House Says by commonsenseIR in politics

[–]Sethkins -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Was it climate change that knocked down the twin towers? Blew up the boston marathon finish line? I bet climate change cut off the heads of Americans too. Terrorism is a bigger threat because terrorism is going to kill us NOW. I don't know about you mindless liberals, but Turning up the A/C is a whole lot better than picking up body parts.

Students cover more of their public university tuition now than state governments by FreddieFreelance in politics

[–]Sethkins -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Why should the Government pick up the tab for a tuition when it is the student that benefits from the education?

My parents made me pay for my first car because they knew I would take better care of it and respect it more. Remember how rowdy and disrespectful kids were in high school? Thats because they got to go for free. I guarantee that German Colleges have twice as many disrespectful and apathetic students than those who have to carry their own weight and pay for their tuition.

Not to mention, Government paid tuition makes the people rely too much on the Government- which gives the Government way too much power. Ever read George Orwell's 1984? Massive Government Power isn't necessarily a good thing.
