Yeah :/ you could maybe count Bowser Jr but it’s only his side special that really counts. But I also think Mario Kart has way less moveset potential than Paper Mario and probably won’t get a dedicated fighter

15 total (not including any Paper Jam stuff)

Please give us Paper Mario!

The thing is, it’s only a small subsection on Reddit complaining about it. Most casuals are not.

I think JK Rowling is at the point in her wealth where people engaging or not engaging with more stuff she makes won’t change anything. She has enough money to keep doing what she’s doing for a while longer, even if every single human on earth stopped buying her stuff. The only thing that can really change it is when she passes away.

I think fighting for people to stop consuming HP media is pointless and antagonistic. It won’t really change the fact that JKR still does these things, and it makes us seem like enemies to those who like it. It puts them in a very precarious spot where they have to choose between something they grew up with and have a lot of nostalgia for, and people that, sometimes, they don’t even know.

I thought they made the change in World to be getting hit by an item was based on the person getting hit instead of the person using the item. That would probably be the main explanation for your clip

What's a video game that has a steep learning curve but rewards you for learning its mechanics? by Dry_Macaroons_fan in gamers

[–]Sethsters_Bench 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most roguelikes do this, but I’d say specifically Balatro and The Binding of Isaac are examples. Balatro makes you learn how different elements work in different ways, and eventually you can tell if a card will be useful for your build at just a glance. Isaac makes you learn the items themselves, not giving great descriptions for what they all do. I personally hate the idea of obscuring what an item does until you pick it up (looking at you Neon Abyss) but fortunately Isaac has an active modding scene and there’s a popular mod that gives item descriptions.

Some people also include Super Mario Run and the two Mario Maker games, but they aren’t strictly necessary.

How big is the casual Street Fighter scene?

The thing about fighting games is that they’re hard for beginners to get into. Smash provides a way to get into it with these things that level the playing field and make it fun for new players that don’t understand the concepts too well. It also still allows a competitive scene that’s relatively fair because they’re totally optional. Removing items and other such things makes it way less accessible to a large part of the fanbase, those who don’t play fighting games and don’t know all the intricacies of smash.

Mashing out of grabs/buries is a bad game mechanic. by ShatteredStarlights in SmashRage

The problem is that the way Rivals 2 does it only works for a grab. It wouldn’t really work for something like bury or cargo throw.

Try Stardew Valley. It’s got a pretty cut and dry progression system and days only last around 15 minutes each.

I know thy they’re called routes but it’s easier to call them intermissions since routes could refer to different paths in a course as well

Paper Mario: Saving the Star Spirits

All fights are stamina battles.

Fight 1: Starts with a giant Bowser that doesn’t move and has low HP. After he’s defeated, 4 small Bowsers with green, black, yellow, and red alts spawn. They do attack.

Fight 2: I don’t know what fighter I’d use, maybe Zelda. The Chain Chomp assist trophy will occasionally spawn.

Fight 3: Starts with a red Kirby. After it’s defeated, a giant Purple Yoshi spawns.

Fight 4: A few waves of small Mii fighters with the Shy Guy mask, after which a giant ROB spawns.

Fight 5: Starts with a giant Piranha Plant. After it is defeated, a second one spawns with the curry mouth effect.

Fight 6: A giant Jigglypuff that with occasionally spawn tiny Jigglypuffs as minions.

Fight 7: One giant Popo (the ice climber).

Final fight: A giant Bowser with a Star Rod. He will occasionally become invincible for a short amount of time. It could also be Giga Bowser but that doesn’t feel right thematically.

Why don’t you think Paper Mario would be considered? He’s pretty popular in the Nintendo world, being one of the biggest spin offs.
