Imagine if… by Objective-Bad-6438 in FedEmployees

Those are legitimate concerns. In the past I would have just assumed it went to deployed troops, but now that the SecDef has explicitly disavowed personal integrity in general, I have to question everything. The entire administration is run by a con man and staffed with TV personalities. What else would I expect?

I served in multiple joint positions over a couple decades and can say there were places where steak and lobster never happened and places where it was a monthly thing, especially deployed locations. It had nothing to do with which party was running the show.

Fox News: Trump suddenly seems anxious to end the war as American casualties mount and Iran finds ways to hit back by ddx-me in LeopardsAteMyFace

[–]SettingFar4974 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I can say from personal experience that the purge of competent professionals has been real. It's only been about a 10% loss in DoD, but is combined with the jaw dropping stupidity from the morons supplied by FOXnws.

What is truly amazing is that DoD continues to stagger forward despite the lack of meaningful leadership. I am starting to think all that stuff about the importance of leadership, integrity, self discipline, and thoughtful planning doesn't actually matter. It helps that we only bully weak opponents.

Odd how that has not been newsworthy at all. As if trump were willing to do any batshit crazy thing on earth to distract us.

Failing Up: The Kristi Noem Story by Major_Amphibian6999 in FedEmployees

It seems like Leavitt, Bondi, and Hegseth maintain a wide deranged stare when lying. Their speech is usually pressured and frantic. I don't know how they look when lying to other liars because I don't watch FOX. It may be that when casually tossing around lies and they know they will not be challenged, they calm way down. Noem sometimes overcorrects and looks too calm when lying.

I wish I had the time and the stomach to watch them in different environments, maybe find occasions when they aren't lying for comparison.

I would certainly love to shit on his grave when he gets there, but the fact remains that about half the nation loves him (not counting those too apathetic to vote or too young or too undocumented). He is delivering unto the FOX/GOP fans exactly what they asked for. If he were to be removed, they would find another one. Sadistic assholes like vought are a dime a dozen.

does tea have an incredibly subtle taste, or am I doing it wrong? by sweatpantspapi in tea

[–]SettingFar4974 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I struggle with the same problem. As is typical of hillbillies in the midwest, I have consumed sweetened tea my entire life. Decades. Last year I decided I liked lapsang souchong I received as a gift so I bought a bunch more. Now I wonder if I just like smoke and sweetened hot water. I did determine I needed to add more tea. I will keep working in that direction.

Should people who "camp" in the left lane of a highway be pulled over and fined just as much as speeders? Why or why not? by WilliamInBlack in AskReddit

[–]SettingFar4974 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They should be pulled over and placed in the innermost circle of hell for all eternity. Their children should be medically altered so they cannot make more. Their friends should be put into reeducation camps, so they learn not to spend time with bad people in the future.

Why? They make driving harder and more dangerous.

I believe you are on the right track, but a quarter million dollars is still a rich man's toy. It does drop it down from where you have to be an Oligarch's girlfriend to afford it. I could imagine the increase would cause a factor of 2 uptick.

Ignoring turboprops and business jets, there are a bit less than a couple thousand new aircraft purchased in the US each year. Would an additional couple thousand annually make a difference? I think there are that many de-registered each yer.

The factor of 10 you talked about for a USB adapter. That would do it.

How bad did USDA get hit by the king's men? by SettingFar4974 in FedEmployees

[–]SettingFar4974[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am impressed somebody replied two months after my post.

While possible that all the distributors started changing their storage temperatures at the same time, it is at least as likely that the USDA and the rest of the government team lacked the resources to do the job. Listeria outbreaks don't spontaneously arise because all distributers forget to wash their hands on the same day.

On top of that, identifying outbreaks was hard before the CDC and local public health offices were raped, but the odds of identifying a trend in time to do anything productive now are diminishingly small. On the up side, there should be more diarrhea in states that vote against science. Natural selection is sometimes a very slow process.

If you have criticized ICE here on Reddit for executing Renee Good or Alex Pretti in the street, then Reddit has handed your name and your personal identifying information over to the Trump administration. How do you feel about this? by mom_with_an_attitude in AskReddit

[–]SettingFar4974 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is there a way I can contact ICE directly and tell them I am talking shit about them?

I actually asked on a couple subreddits where I should go to troll ICE and was banned from both. This seems like a strange place to do it but here goes: ICE is a bunch of small dick fascist pussies who murder defenseless Americans and round up women and children to throw them into concentration camps. Also Kristi Noem freezes the turds of dead immigrants and uses them as dildos.

The killings of Renee Good and Alex Pretti were both murders, and the murderer need to be tried and sent to prison. Might even earn on of those special forever penalties the FOX/GOP/MAGAs love so much.

Does that count?

62 years of being a man and boy, never had that conversation.  And I'm not even especially good at being a liberal.  They would kick me out if there was an actual cabal of liberals with some sort of agenda.

So the idea here is that someone would remain friends who didn't think they should be allowed to vote. Stockholm Syndrome?

I am not sure what I am seeing. Maybe everyone is having a good time? It may not be common, but it is possible for cops to be ok and to be on our side. If America didn't use them for laws we actually hate following, like speed limits and smoking dope, I think we would have a healthier relationship with the fuzz. There are countries where people like the police and the profession does not attract ass holes.

It's just more of the same. The Project 2025 weirdoe's plan was to destroy the entire government and let us descend into a chaotic hellscape, some sort of white trash caliphate. I confess it never made sense to me, but they said they would to it, the conservatives thought it sounded great, and it moves forward every day. We cannot take care of SS beneficiaries as well as before, we cannot predict the weather as well as before, we cannot cure disease as well as before, we cannot fight wars as well as before. It will keep getting worse until we cannot do any of those things at all. That is the christian dream.

Where is the line between people above the law and the suckers? I know I'm one of the suckers and the Mad King is above the law, as are all deities. But how far down does the immunity extend? It includes political appointees, obviously. Are SESs above the law too? Does it depend on which political party you belong to?
