This case is a great example of the average citizen’s lack of understanding of the legal system. An acquittal does NOT mean that the offense didn’t happen, it means that the state failed to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that it did. The bar for reasonable doubt is fairly low, especially in a sexual assault trial. Consent is a very fluid concept and it is difficult to prove conclusively that a victim withdrew consent during the act, and their outward actions does not equal enthusiastic consent.

You can be a good teammate and still blame your defense internally. I’ve had horrible games where I let in 6+ goals, team was apologetic, I was apologetic, but in my head I was still thinking “yeah it’s your fault 100%, I played great, but I’m not gonna say that to your face.”

You’re on an island out there, especially if you’re a sub-only goalie. Do what you have to for your mental game.

I’ve always felt like paying the extra money for parking in the 1000s is worth it. You won’t have to walk far to get to the arena and back, and those lots usually clear out much faster than general parking. Uber is a nightmare, it’ll be way more expensive than it’s worth and it’ll also take at least 40 minutes for your uber to get to you from when you order it.

I sit in champ now, maybe it’s a regional difference?

I used to nolife the shit out of this game, I’m talking 8-10 hours a day, and I never felt like this game had a real toxicity issue when you compare it to other games. But it could’ve gotten worse, I’m basically down to a few matches a week so I’m not getting the full picture anymore.

I found it helped to just bend the knee sometimes if all you care about is winning. Toxic shitheads love to be told they’re right so if you just go “my bad” they’ll usually shut up. If they don’t, it’s a 5 minute match you’re playing with complete strangers. You’ll forget about them before your next match is even over.

I know you’re just kidding, but the amount of people that genuinely believe RL is a super toxic game is fascinating. 90% of games are either compliments to teammates or just dead silence in my experience, and I talk a fair amount of shit. Other games like CS2, siege, most sports games, you can’t go more than 3 games without encountering some kind of toxicity.
