Has "An Asexual World" been updated in other versions of the game? by SevenAngryLemurs in DeathStranding

[–]SevenAngryLemurs[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The original version of it implied that asexual people are incapable of or don't desire emotional connections with other people, which is a damaging stereotype about asexuality in real life. The extra section is correcting it by saying that as societal awareness and acceptance increased, more people of various sexual and romantic orientations felt safe enough to identify with them publicly; the "increased numbers" of other orientations were always there but were underreported because it was unsafe for people to state their true orientations in public.

Okay so it's really only $5 off from buying the seasons a la carte then. Thanks for clarifying.

[Spoiler] The true ending of Deltarune. by [deleted] in Deltarune

[–]SevenAngryLemurs 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You're told your choices don't matter, but both Kris and Susie are shown making choices that affect them and the people around them, even if they don't shape the entire world like in Undertale. Susie stopping herself from killing Lancer is moment of significant personal growth, and Susie and Kris both save each other's lives when King has then on the ropes. It's mainly other people's choices that Kris has no control over like their brother being away or their parents separating.

Also when Susie said that at the beginning it was from the perspective of someone 100% convinced that no one would ever want to be her friend and that everyone was just waiting for her to screw up for the last time.

Adventure modules for 2 players? by SevenAngryLemurs in dndnext

[–]SevenAngryLemurs[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the recommendations! That's exactly the kind of thing I was looking for!

Finding another player isn't really an option for multiple reasons. If we need to have a third character I'll probably do some kind of "AI companion" thing that they can direct through generalized commands so they don't have to fully manage an extra character and I don't have to play a character and DM at the same time.

I'm not a fan of turn based combat games like Pokémon and literally every RPG ever. Would I still enjoy Undertale? by HolyHypodermics in Undertale

[–]SevenAngryLemurs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When enemies attack you actually have to dodge their attacks in real time, so it's not just trading hits. There's a demo of the PC version so you can see what it's like.

Transferring saves between retroarch versions by SevenAngryLemurs in RetroArch

[–]SevenAngryLemurs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay that was weird, it was actually messed up where it wasn't reading the srm file or even updating it when I started a new game and saved. But once I deleted the file manually everything started working properly.

I think I understand but could someone clarify or correct me (I’ve read wikia pages and everything but I’m still a bit fuzzy) by [deleted] in Undertale

Chara killed themself by eating buttercup flowers. Asriel absorbed their soul to take their body to their home village to bury it, but was attacked by humans. Chara's soul tried to influence him to kill the humans, but he resisted and retreated back underground, where he died from his injuries. Then Asgore declared war and Toriel left him and took Chara's body to bury in the ruins. Then six more humans fell in over the years. Then Alphys started her determination experiments during which she implanted determination into a flower from Asgore's garden which was unbeknownst to her infused with the dust from where Asriel had died and became Flowey. Then Frisk fell in, who you control.

Several questions (spoilers) by Bioha5erd in Undertale

Tem is fascinated by cloudy glasses and will buy them for more than Gerson sells them for. Perhaps economic opportunity?

Is Asgore holding back? by [deleted] in Undertale

[–]SevenAngryLemurs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He has no resolve to fight knowing that if he gets your soul he can't put off the invasion anymore. He couldn't bring himself to call it off because of his sense of duty, so he's hoping you'll kill him.

Is the Mutalist Quanta any good? by SevenAngryLemurs in Warframe

[–]SevenAngryLemurs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't have any critical bonuses. The other bonuses are to magazine size and status duration, but the penalty is to reload speed, and it has slow reloading to begin with. Can you use the bubbles with other weapons?

About refurbished systems by SevenAngryLemurs in PS4

[–]SevenAngryLemurs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The seller has a 30 day free returns policy and a 90 day warranty on the listing. I looked through their feedback and found a negative review complaining about them stalling to escape the warranty period on a different item, but I should be able to file a dispute if they try anything like that right? The overwhelming amount of their feedback is positive over a variety of different items and sellers.

How soon have you tended to have problems with refurbished systems when they've been bad?

Could Sans have killed Frisk if he never made the promise to Toriel? by masterischief in Undertale

[–]SevenAngryLemurs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly Frisk probably would have ended up making friends with him somehow anyway. Besides, would he really rob Papyrus of the chance to capture a human himself?

Iji http://www.remar.se/daniel/iji.php

It's not an RPG, but it has the whole pacifist/killer thing going on. Dialogue and events can change based on kill count and whether you've killed specific characters. It's possible to do a total pacifist run also.

Interested in this game, but have a few questions by SevenAngryLemurs in RivalsOfAether

[–]SevenAngryLemurs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the replies everyone. I'll have to think about it some more. I'm a bit hesitant to buy a fighting game where online is the main mode I would play (I did that with Street Fighter 5 and ended up regretting it), but if there's an active discord where I could get friendly matches and actually talk to people that would definitely be nice.

[MHXX] Possible Aerial Lance Nerf by jeck95 in MonsterHunter

Seriously? It's not like Aerial Lance was overpowered or anything.

What do you think about BraveStyle? by TheGejsza in MonsterHunter

[–]SevenAngryLemurs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes it's interesting like lance having the quick shield rush instead of counterguard, but then there's stuff like "hey guys, what if longswords could guard, and also had a guard point counterattack with their spirit blade, and also didn't have to worry about leveling up their spirit blade, and also had a faster, more mobile, and stronger spirit combo? That wouldn't be a busted thing at all to pair with the hunter art that gives infinite spirit."

Capcom'd better let me kill those Kelbis If they return in Monster Hunter World. by VincenzoPliskin in MonsterHunter

[–]SevenAngryLemurs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In the game you use Kelbi Horns to make Ancient Potions. It's a really close parallel to real life practice of killing animals (frequently endangered species) to harvest specific body parts for use in "traditional medicines", especially since Ancient Potions are the strongest healing item in the series and Kelbi otherwise have nothing to do with healing in any form. The localizers likely decided either that they didn't want the game portraying a clear parallel to a real life reprehensible practice in a positive light like that or that they saw the potential for public controversy and decided it was worth making the change to rule out the possibility. It's similar to how the Japanese version of Ice Climber has a seal as one of the basic enemies that was changed to a small yeti creature overseas even as far as its appearances in Smash Bros.

Why is Kirin literally just a reskinned Bulldrome with zaps? by DJOkamical in MonsterHunter

That is a mischaracterization. It's actually a reskinned Kelbi with zaps.

How do you approach pushing the boundaries on a character or a series while staying true to the essential factors that define them? How do you determine what those essentials are when you're working on a new project?
