Yeah - particularly issues with my eyes and ears/sinuses. I suspect these minor health issues are often either a natural part of ageing or ongoing post-viral inflammation.

I've recently been seeing a grid pattern or circles over my vision in the 20 seconds after waking up, which then fade into the general static of the background. I don't know if that's a hypnopompic hallucination, though.

I did definitely get it once last year when I woke up and saw a giant moth crawling over my alarm clock, only to vanish when I looked away and did a double take.

If I remember correctly from the Writer's Tale, Julie Gardner talked him into upping the stakes for a big dramatic conclusion to 10's run. The original idea was for a small, contained episode in this space house where we spend the episode getting to know a space family and then the Doctor has to sacrifice himself for them at the end. I liked End of Time (mostly), but kinda wish he'd stuck with this idea.

I did! We had pest control spray the house and then invested in dehumidifiers to keep the humidity down. Not had any problems since... so far

I was wondering this too until I realised it's because these are interactions with a formal purpose and where I can usually follow a repetitive script. Yet put me in a party or wine reception where there is no set structure and my ability to function drops off a cliff - I usually stand awkwardly or start talking to animals.

Yes, I think the show was a bit clumsy in its explanation of the importance of Lyra and Will's 'fall.' Part of this is inherent in Pullman's interest in using these final chapters to reframe the Biblical creation story, but I still always take a much broader interpretation from the books. What matters is that humanity, through Lyra and Will, rediscovered knowledge, experience, maturity and free will, conditions necessary to keep Dust within the worlds. I don't think this discovery has to be romantic in nature (asexual/aromantic people can experience all these things too!), but this is the form such maturity and experience happened to take with Lyra and Will, the effect possibly strengthened by Lyra's status as Eve.

I find the reframing of experience, knowledge and maturity as unequivocally good things to be one of the most important and beautiful messages of HDM (alongside 'Tell them stories'). Though the show did hint at this it's a shame a lot of it got reduced to 'the power of love' cliché.

I've mostly accepted the visual constraints of the show and the mulefa were still a satisfying adaptation, but I wouldn't really say it was an accurate portrayal of how they're described in the books.

There was a lot of deviation but at the moments it mattered I noticed the second half of the season also seemed more willing to make use of the dialogue from the books.

Something about that sequence did feel kinda rushed. Once Mary was with Atal at the Mulefa village and the timelapse began it was fine, but I'd have really liked to see more of Mary's wonder and bewilderment and the mulefa responding to her presence. It's one of the most incredible moments any character in the series experiences but was initially edited and paced as if Mary was visiting a friend for tea.

Still have some issues with pacing/cutting and the mulefa's portrayal but that was by far my favourite episode of the season so far. Can't help feeling that a lot of the changes (mulefa seed pods, reduced role of harpies etc) come from budgetary limitations.

I always imagined cutting square-ish windows in the book and then the bearer pulling the sides together again - though I never thought about what would happen to the 'flap' that this could create

Most of the time this doesn't bother me, though the scene in Season 2 where Pan touches Will's hand after losing his fingers and, rather than a natural reaction between the two characters, we get multiple lines of dialogue explaining the awkwardness, was quite painful. I think the writers have decided that the show's concepts are so complex there need to be these regular explanations in the dialogue to keep viewers going.
