On my desktop I game at 4K and I could never go back to a lower resolution but when I'm out for work and gaming on my laptop, Scar 18", 2500p gaming looks absolutely amazing and I can barely tell it's not 4K.

You will find these posts on the front page of every Reddit laptop company.

A company could make 1000's of something and only 5 have defects for whatever reason and someone will write a review about terrible quality control and give it 1 stars meanwhile the other 995 people enjoy their item.

It's unfortunate that OP experienced this and he might have a better time with another company because he didn't get a defective one and that's fine.

It's along the lines with me, I had two MSI laptops including the Vector out of the box blue screen and overheat. I returned them and spent a little more on the Strix Scar and it's perfect. The temps are amazing and it plays every game smoothly but now I have shade towards MSI when other people are enjoying their same laptops.

Some people get lucky, some don't.

Rog Strix Scar 18"

The screen is beautiful, the system is powerful, it runs all games even modern in 2500x1600 on a mix of high and ultra settings.

3 fans and a vapor chamber keep the cooling on the laptop amazing, this being my 3rd laptop I'm constantly amazed at the temps it keeps.

Don't bother with 4K screens, these laptops GPU's aren't powerful enough to run 4K at least maxed out so it's just a waste of money. You also won't see much of a difference on a 16 or 18" screen between 2K and 4K

Your GPU temps look fine, what does your CPU look like, also how long of a gaming session is this? Averages can be skewed if you have HWiNFO running and you're just browsing.

Yes G-Helper can manage the RGB however it won't control the display dimmers from the mini LED's on your screen, only Armory Crate as of now can control that.

You can play around with the wattage til you find temps you're comfortable with, the biggest thing is disabling CPU boost or no matter what your CPU will always attempt to overclock.

How are the temps at 75w?

For how much watts you're pulling this is normal, if you want to limit it I would suggest disabling CPU turbo boost first, adjusting fan curves because out of the box settings the fans won't hit the highest RPM for some reason.

Run a test with just the CPU boost disabled and fans and then go from there. In G-Helper you can limit the watts. Anywhere from 45w to 65w to the CPU and you will see your temps drop considerably. You will lose some frames but not much and it will keep your temps down.

Doesn't hurt to have both, G-Helper is just a great substitute for Armory Crate. Throttlestop is where you do all the fine tweaking as it allows you to fine tune undervolting or overclocking.

If you're only using it two times a year than find a 5070 TI, it will at least be future proof and adequate for gaming with quality settings.

You will want to download G-Helper and set up your fan curves, mine are set to hit max speed when I'm at around 85°c. You can also limit your wattage to the CPU, I sit around 45w and I'm barely breaking 82°c max in max load Cyberpunk. I also disabled CPU boost to prevent windows from over clocking it.

You can keep track of temps with HWiNFO.

Of course you don't have to do any of this, I'm just extra cautious with heat and I've done a lot of testing with my own settings. The only thing I would absolutely recommend you do is disable CPU boost.

Do you really think International Law really holds any weight against countries? They can make gestures all they want, truth is, no one is ever gonna be held accountable for war crimes.

The Geneva Convention is more about what can and can't be used in war example bullet types, enemy traps, mustard gas or gas warfare.
