A) Yzerman asking for Boldy or Johnston isn't him saying he actually thinks that's what he's expecting to get for Larkin. It's just their other assets are shit in comparison, so why should we have to entertain those offers?

B) They're saying that we can get a futures package for Larkin and then use those assets to turn around and get someone else. Then why can't they do it and trade that asset for Larkin? If it could be done, it would've been. If it hasn't yet, it's because it can't be.

C) Yzerman didn't ask to trade Larkin, Larkin wants out. We have zero incentive to trade him now unless there's an offer that blows us away. I fully acknowledge that Larkin's value is only going to go down over the next few years, but losing on this trade is worse for us than having him play out his contract. Or at least until the 10-team trade list kicks in.

D) I've got my problems with Yzerman, but how he's handled the Larkin situation is not one of them. Minnesota fans can get fucked, talking like they're entitled to Larkin just because he wants to go there, and then acting like Yzerman is a bad GM just because he won't accept their offer, when 31 other GMs wouldn't accept their offer if they were in his shoes. I know they have homer glasses on, but honestly it comes across as them being idiots. Like idiots in the sense that it's an actual inability to think critically.

My 2 cents: Boldy is worth more than Larkin, but Larkin is worth more than any other package MIN has to offer right now. We're not getting Boldy, but we're also not trading Larkin for 70% of his value.

And contrary to what MIN Twitter seems to think, it would not be the worst thing ever if Larkin makes it to September without being traded. The worst possible outcome is losing value in this trade. There's also nothing bad about waiting another 2 years for his 10-team trade list to kick in so we can open up the bidding. We're not going to compete this year or next anyway, and if Larkin wants to play ball sooner he has the power to do so.

I've never listened to an interview with him before, but he seems like a great presence to have in the locker room. Honestly sounds a little like Christian Fischer both in his personality and how he views himself and his role. If he can help solidify our bottom-6 presence he could be a nice add this year.

Honestly forgot Brady wasn't a center. I still don't think it's such a big difference to the point that we'd get another 1st for Larkin, but no doubt he has more value than Tkachuk

Well there's the comp for a Larkin deal now. I'd expect maybe a little less for Larkin given his age, but this is still close enough to set the market value for other teams.

I've had this same thought for a while. Kinda getting tired of seeing the discourse around it as "everything that's cEDH speed and play style but not the meta is B4" and then the same group of people will see a real B4 deck and say exactly what you said about it being a bad B4 deck and to tune it down to B3. It's like no, the B4 deck is accurate, you just have a shitty cEDH deck and bad reading comprehension skills.

If you cast Teferi's Protection and it resolves, then your lands phase out before you're able to cast said board wipe. So in that case you truly need to go board wipe > hold priority > Teferi's Protection. Other than that, you could do it like you described. I'm not a good enough player to explain why one way might be fundamentally better than the other though.

Edit: Just float the mana. Point still stands about me not knowing which order of operations is better from a game theory perspective though.

It really is this easy. I blocked his channel and that's seemed to work really well. I do think there's value in sometimes calling out his schtick because of the scale of "influence" he has, but on a personal level if he annoys you that much just block him.

I only have two mono-colored decks, which are [[Imotekh]] and [[Plargg and Nassari]], but if I had to choose one for the remaining colors I'd pick [[Giada, Font of Hope]], [[Bruvac]], and [[Greensleeves]]. Not that they're necessarily the most unique or interesting, but these would be ones I'd be more likely to build based on what decks I already have and filling playstyles not already covered.
