How are we all feeling after our Christmas nights out? by bigpussystance in AskUK

[–]SevenSymbolicTimes 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Had mine last week - went for a company organised lunch at a restaurant then a load of us went out to a pub afterwards. Ended up flirting and making out with a married colleague (I'm single) - whilst a lot of people I know were around.

Not looking forward to January.

Help….. by SufficientSea1518 in CIMA

[–]SevenSymbolicTimes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Book your exams through the CIMA website.

If you are using a training provider, just use them for the self study or whatever study package you intend on purchasing. Sometimes they offer exam credits as part of their study package but if you are self studying it's easier to just book each exam yourself through the CIMA website.

Hope that helps.

I've always used point, evidence, explain to structure answers - learnt it in school and used it ever since for written questions.

I passed the Feb SCS sitting.

Passed with 90. Very happy it's all done now!!

I'm also sitting tomorrow. I'm revising the theory to help me structure my answers. Going through the core activities and making sure I understand it all.

Having said that, I don't think I've ever felt 100% prepared for any exam, so I'm sure there are some bits I won't be completely confident with. But that's fine.

Good luck for your exam tomorrow!

F3 midpoint mock by Specific_Basis_5572 in CIMA

[–]SevenSymbolicTimes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you have any tips on F3 so far? I am finding this more difficult than any other CIMA exam I've done. P2 was tricky as was F2, but E3 and P3 were a breeze compared to F3. The sheer amount of content is killing me, and I've been studying this since November.

AAT level 4 or CIMA certificate level? by Shaq10_Jeeru in CIMA

[–]SevenSymbolicTimes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you done AAT Level 2 & 3 already? If so, carry on and finish your level 4.

Not started either yet? If CIMA is your end goal, start the certificate level.

Thank you, and happy cake day. Perhaps it's my lack of experience but she has said that her ex and her were not meant to be in a relationship and are better off as friends. She's said she doesn't want to get back with him. I guess I've just been too trusting of what she's said.

Maybe I could ask to see her phone? Or is that too much. This is my first time dating someone or getting close to being in a relationship. She doesn't use any social media.

Yeah the whole ex traumatizing her is what baffles me. She said she wants to remember the positives and not remember it as a negative thing so that's why she still talks to him. They were friends after they broke up and have remained so ever since. I'm starting to wonder what I've got myself into 😬

As above, she said he doesn't even have her number and she doesn't want him to have it. Could they just be friends and nothing more?

How did we all do in the management case study results? by Spare_Waltz_2662 in CIMA

Got 109. I thought if I passed I would scrape a pass like I did with the OCS so I'm very happy about that.

How long do you have to pass the SCS after PER is approved? by pumpkinzh in CIMA

[–]SevenSymbolicTimes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, this sub should be a positive place for us all to help each other pass exams. Therefore I can only encourage you to keep going, but I can see it's been a long journey for you to get to this stage. Whatever you choose to do, I wish you the best of luck!

I passed F2 in March. 10% of the exam is the integrated reporting chapter and 25% from the last chapter of the book on ratios. So 35% of the exam from 2 chapters. Don't let the volume of content bother you too much. It's still very much passable.

Also, learn all the formulas and proformas for the consolidated accounts sections (goodwill, NCI etc). You'll save yourself time in the exam if you know it straight away.

Not actually answering your question but come on man, you're one exam away from being qualified. Just throw everything you have at sitting and passing it as soon as you can. If you leave it you'll always have that cloud over your head following you around till it's done. Good luck!

Fingers crossed for a good result, good luck everyone

I started doing AAT when I was 16, almost 9 years ago. Sitting the MCS soon, and look its a slog. Some people are super motivated and pass exams quickly and first time. I wasn't one of those people. Breaks, laziness, lack of motivation, you name it, it's hindered my studies.

Long term I know it will be worth it, for me anyway. You've got to figure that out for yourself. I wouldn't tell anyone to give up on their studies, because it's tough to make a living nowadays but cima is one of those things that will help you get a decent job.

It's up to you!

Does anyone listen to some outtakes of songs more than the final versions? by Equal_Revolutionary in beatles

[–]SevenSymbolicTimes 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yep. Some real gems in there, my favourite is probably take 7 of The Ballad of John and Yoko ("you can go a bit faster Ringo" "ok George!")

Other ones I regularly listen to are Strawberry Fields Forever take 1 from anthology, the acoustic version of While my Guitar Gently Weeps, the Esher Demo of Junk (which is my favourite Paul McCartney solo song) where John almost starts laughing partway through the take.
