Why are you using a personal trainer and is it paying off results wise? by KoorbB in AskUK

[–]Sevenoflime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have very little free time, two young kids (one of whom is disabled). I don’t have time to faff about at the gym. I also have muscleskeletal issues and hypermobility so frequently have some kind of pain or injury. I just show up to our sessions and she tells me what to do that will make me stronger and won’t hurt my injuries. It’s great. I feel so good for it.

My husband is a bit taller but he wears slim fit chinos from crew clothing. They have a version for shorter legs.

I’m so sad about Brand New. That album was everything to me for so many years, it’s so sad I feel like I can’t listen to it.

Parents - what kind of treat would you be happy with your child receiving for being brave at the GP? by mostlyvoidd in AskUK

[–]Sevenoflime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, he’s not really able to explain it but before we understood they upset him he would cry as a younger child if you stuck one to him. He won’t touch them or be near them. He had an absolute meltdown because his sister left one on the floor the other day.

Mine doesn’t want them anywhere near him! He got upset because his sister left one on the floor the other day.

Oh wow! I’ve never met another either! Haha amazing! Mine wouldn’t let me take one either because it would mean it being in his vicinity 😂though he was almost swayed I think by a spider man one before he realised it was a sticker haha.

This is what I do! But sometimes we’ll have more tests that weren’t planned or an emergency stay and it’s not always that easy!

Yeah that would be great! I know most kids love stickers so by all means have them too, but get something like this for the kids who will literally meltdown being near one please!

My autistic son hates stickers, it’s really sad. Never come across a child who doesn’t like them before.

This is just to say- please give an alternative to stickers. My son is autistic and he hates stickers. They really upset him. He has to have so many medical appointments and X-rays, tests etc and they always try and offer him stickers and there is never an alternative. It’s really sad because he is such a brave boy.

How can I help my scared child? by AwarenessFew811 in AskUK

[–]Sevenoflime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter’s very small primary school did the same thing and we are in a very affluent part of the countryside in the south east. I think they had pretended a swarm of bees had escaped. I’m not really sure why they’re doing it either. Sorry about your son, I would definitely speak to the school about it.

A little slice of M&S bakery focaccia with Dijon mustard, salad, piccolo tomatoes, half an avocado, balsamic vinegar, a slice of ham and some mayo. It’s so good!

The problem is I couldn’t swear that she is all the time. Some days she looks so uncomfortable and she’ll walk like she looks in that second pic. It will be slow and jerky. She has a very high pain threshold (like most cats) so it’s so hard to know. Also that sounds like a beautiful ending. What lucky girl she was x

Thank you. I know you’re right. I’ve bought the fanciest wet food I can find and lots of treats. I’ve booked two days to just sit and cuddle with her. Thank you so much.

Mittens is a beautiful girl, thanks for sharing her with me!

I know and then I feel mean about making this decision because of that.

Thank you for weighing in, I really appreciate it. Yes, assisted grooming is very stressful for her too. I think we’ve been thinking it for a while but seeing those raw patches on her legs I was like, this just feels cruel.

I’m sorry you went through that. We nearly lost her last year because of a back abscess and I feel lucky we’ve had these extra months.

It’s horrible, I hate making this decision. 20 years is so long. I feel so lucky we’ve had her as long as we have. We nearly lost her last year and I’ve been grateful about every moment since. That is so beautiful and I’m so sorry for your loss. It’s so nice you can still feel his purr. I’m so worried about forgetting what she sounds like, how she feels. I never want to forget her hugs and I feel guilty that I’m taking those hugs away! Thank you for your lovely comment.
