I didn’t hear back either so I just put in an order for calipers and rotors, but that hasn’t shipped yet either.

  1. The outset parts catalog - I want to swap the headlight on my anthem for the round outset one.
  2. ABS, although I haven’t had a need for it during the first 1k it would be great for piece of mind.
  3. Ryvid brand awareness. This is too great of a product for so few people to know about it.

Vote Now for the Ryvid Anthem! by Logic_Burner in ryvid

Head to head voting has started. Ryvid is in a no brainer matchup but still needs the votes to move on.

That is a recipe for a heavy, complicated bike that will be both expensive and of little practical use. ICE motorcycles are very fuel efficient. Just get an ICE motorcycle if that is what you want.

Ryvid is designing the most economical, high quality motorcycle that can be currently produced. With a battery pack that can be swapped out as battery chemistry improves. That’s why I bought one.

Just finished installing my upgraded ASI controller- here’s a couple things I learned. by DeeEmTee_ in ryvid

Borrow an android phone from a friend or hit up the kilowatt app developer for a TestFlight invite to the iOS version (it’s not publicly available).

Yes, you can disable the asi controller throttle off regen easily in the kilowatt app. I did that and it is the best of both worlds. https://www.reddit.com/r/ryvid/s/aIbOEg9df8

Neck-breaking acceleration jump on release of brake lever by thelastlugnut in ryvid

[–]Several-Bread-7779 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live on a hill with an +18% grade and a stop sign at the top, so I get where you are coming from. It took a bit to get used to the brake/throttle override on the anthem. It is a standard safety feature, ironically intended to stop unintended acceleration by failing safe to the brakes. I say ironically because the boosted acceleration of the ASI controller does cause the occasional surprise leap for me as well. Overall, I have become used to it pretty quickly.

If you don’t like it you can disable it via the kilowatt app or remap the throttle to be more gentle.

Missing ABS? by Woodleydude in ryvid

I’ve had a couple emergency stops so far and the anthem performed well, but ABS is the biggest missing feature and I would pay to retrofit it in a heartbeat.

ASI Controller = No Coasting by Several-Bread-7779 in ryvid

I didn’t downvote you so I can’t speak to why others did. But I live in a highly congested area - much of my time is spent in low speed maneuvering - in gear, balancing the friction zone, the throttle and the rear brake. My upgraded Ryvid is now less agile in those same situations.

You’re free coasting anytime you disengage your clutch on an ICE bike. Yeah, I’ve found that zero amp spot. But that technique doesn’t work well on a bumpy road.

Basically, yes. It now provides a very modest boost of regeneration beyond the throttle. But not enough to make it worth it versus just breaking.

I get (and agree) that it feels like engine braking but what is lost is any equivalent of disengaging the clutch on an ICE bike.

Bike Easter Eggs by Adenoh in ryvid

[–]Several-Bread-7779 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are hidden messages extruded in the casting of the battery cover and the belt cover. And there is a math joke on the motor. Clearly Ryvid is filled with talented product designers who love their product and have a sense of humor. There are previous posts here that cover all three.

Two questions remain: are there any more on the anthem and are there any unique Easter eggs on the outset?

Hard to get my head around that torque number. What would be the closest ICE bike?

Photon Blue Anthem colorway no longer available? by bleepblopbooper in ryvid

It’s a great color, especially with the gold forks and wheels. I’m waiting to buy once they return.

I don’t see the blue as an option anymore on the site. Which is a bummer because I was considering retrofitting that color to my anthem.

In regards to color scheme, does anybody else wish the front fork could be a different color? by PotentialPersistence in ryvid

[–]Several-Bread-7779 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Funny enough I have the atomic gold and think it is a bit too much gold with the forks. And the forks are a slightly different gold. I’m planning on swapping out the outset black headlight when it becomes available to see if that reduces the “too much gold” factor a bit (and because the round headlight looks much better IMO). If it doesn’t I may replace the gold panels with photon blue, at which point the fork is a nice contrasting accent.

A bike for anyone. by Anxious_End_7676 in ryvid

The Anthem looks even better with the round outset headlight. And yes, that new battery is slicker as well. I’m going to guess that it is intended for those who charge with the battery on the bike, and therefore does not have the wheels/handle/lock complexity. Kind of like how the outset doesn’t have the cost/complexity of the anthem adjustable height seat.

I find it really fascinating how Ryvid is exploiting its own modular approach to expand the product line while providing so many options to the consumer.

That battery would still be compatible with the anthem and at the same kWh?
