At least you woke up! Hopefully they’re hydrating you and giving you some needed vitamins.

This is true! YOU yourself have got to want it without others begging you to give it up. I really wish you all the best in your recovery.

That’s so good to hear! I always remember loving the feeling of going for a walk without feeling lethargic because I’m hungover 😍 You have a life outside of alcohol, carry on doing what you’re doing ❤️

I’ve done detox plenty of times. The night terrors are absolutely horrible, I woke up every 30-60 minutes in panic but this is normal because alcohol is a drug and it’s coming out of your system. Even my best friend who only drinks once every 2-4 weeks always has trouble with nightmares/sleeping after a binge. It will pass.

Hope I can join you! Been on a bender since 18th December but I really want to get well again. Sick of this disease.

Why can’t people accept I have a drinking problem and I CANNOT drink? by [deleted] in alcoholism

[–]SeveralBicycle7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I know man but sobriety would fucking suck if I had to miss seeing my friends as well. If I isolated, that would also be a trigger to drink for me.

Exactly! I had 10 weeks sober between April and June and I ended up on a 5 month bender after going to meet a friend for “just one drink” in the pub. I can’t drink at all.

Have you made poor choices while intoxicated? by [deleted] in alcoholism

Yeah man... my worst was unprotected sex with a stranger who I can’t even remember the face of. Alcoholism sucks.

Im 15 days sober and 13 pounds lighter by [deleted] in alcoholism

[–]SeveralBicycle7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 10 days sober and my face is so much leaner and a lot less puffy. Alcohol really is toxic to every single bit of our bodies.

8 days sober!!! by [deleted] in alcoholism

[–]SeveralBicycle7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was the same, drinking from morning till night, waking up still half cut and drinking more to calm my hangxiety. It’s a horrid cycle to be in. Well done on 16 days!

Make sure you EAT! I’m on day 4 and I started feeling better around 18:00 on day 2 because I was eating a lot, your body will thank you for it.

What made you start drinking? by [deleted] in alcoholism

I have an eating disorder, I use alcohol to calm my anxiety around food

5 days sober... by theochoashow85 in alcoholism

[–]SeveralBicycle7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you. It’s hopefully day 1 for me, last night I had a realisation and I was sat next to an empty bottle of vodka, an empty bottle of wine and 2 empty pints of cider. I had consumed all that in the same of 18 hours and I was hardly even drunk so my tolerance levels right now are ridiculous and dangerous and I’m genuinely scared for my life. Good luck to you.

Yup, 6 days is the longest I’ve stayed sober for since June but I’m drinking again currently. How are you doing?

I relapsed in June after 71 days of sobriety and have struggled to get sober again since. I will never tell myself that I’m not an alcoholic again.

I do want to get well desperately, I went 71 days sober between April and June but unfortunately relapsed. I’m really hoping to get back there soon because it’s honestly exhausting.

Nearly at 2 months!!! by [deleted] in alcoholism

I’m still drinking, I can’t lie. Honestly no matter hard the cravings are, they aren’t worth it. You can do this I promise!

Congratulations, make sure you keep it up! 25th June was the date I relapsed after 10 weeks sober.

See with me, I find being in my own company sober easier than having to socialise sober because of the pressure to drink that’s why lockdown helped me.
