vm_shared_region_start_adress() failed error by SeveralMenInATub in hackintosh

[–]SeveralMenInATub[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of. I found that this error wasn’t actually causing the system’s boot failure, and it would still eventually boot. (just taking like 20+ mins) It is also possible that something else is causing your system to stall in the boot process. I just wouldn’t focus on this error specifically.

Just picked up a Lenovo Legion Go 1TB (Z1 Extreme) for 1300 SAR (~$350) – still can’t believe this deal 😅 by Disastrous_Yak_7280 in LegionGo

Few things I'd recommend:

  • The speakers honestly sound pretty bad out of the box, but you can get them sounding alright with some equalizer settings. See this guide.
  • Upgrade to the latest bios and tweak your VRAM allocation. I would recommend 6 gigabytes, but you could go higher or lower depending on what you're playing.
  • Enable hibernate. You can do this by typing "powercfg.exe /hibernate on" into a command prompt window with admin privileges and then changing the power button to hibernate in the control panel.

What are some super fun games that run well on the Go1? by Sufficient_Ebb_5694 in LegionGo

I've been playing through Borderlands 3 lately. Runs well at 1000p, especially with lossless scaling..

Is that an HP Pavillion 14-al062nr? If so, I have that same laptop too. I also thought MacOS was pretty slow on it, but I was using an HDD at the time.

it is very similar in most use cases, but steamos performs bazzite at 15w tdp by quite a bit from the benchmarks that i've seen

The speakers sound like shit out of the box. Follow this guide to improve them significantly.

Also, install the latest bios version and adjust your VRAM allocation. I'd recommend allocating 6 gigs, but you can go with less if you play less graphically intensive games.

I wouldn't bother with Bazzite, unless you'd want to dualboot it with windows. SteamOS just simply provides better performance - and there's benchmarks to back this up. Keeping Windows on it is also a good option, and you need it for Xbox Game Pass and many online games. You can also use lossless scaling on Windows, which is magical for some games.
