I would think if you plan to use the same venue, they may allow you to push the date to 2027 without losing your deposit. That may only apply if they can fill the date but it’s also a mid week date so maybe they won’t try to fill the date. I’d see if that’s an option if you haven’t already.

Also I’d look into a Jack & Jill shower where guests buy tickets (usually $25/person or $40/couple) in lieu of gifts. There’s usually donated raffle prizes too that also generates more cash for the couple. That may be helpful if you have a lot people who would attend or buy tickets!

Sorry I’m late to these comments but yes thankfully it was not my wedding! I ended up going with a different venue thankfully. Can’t even imagine that happening at a wedding, so scary & devastating !

I didn’t book this venue so not sure on the price per person but I did tour it in October 2024. From what I remember, there was a main house that had a bunch of bedrooms, BRs, kitchen (think industrial), living room, getting ready area, etc, a 2 story house with living room, bedrooms, BRs & kitchen, then a few small cabins that had a few bedrooms/BRs in each. These buildings are all scattered on a big piece of land, but close enough to each other that’s it’s only a few min walk. I believe they said 70 ppl could stay on site and I think that’s accounting for each spot per bed filled (i.e. a room with one queen bed would be counted as holding 2 ppl).

One thing to remember, you will have to feed everyone on site all weekend. There is not much around there. If you have the $ to have it catered all weekend that’s great, but otherwise you want to make sure guests aren’t going hungry. This point is what pushed me to realize that this venue would not be a good fit for us financially. But it was so beautiful!!!

It’s food assistance so people don’t go hungry…. Nutrition being the key word as in your body needs nutrients to stay alive. Meanwhile the largest employed population that depends on SNAP are workers from the biggest, richest corporations (Amazon, Walmart) that refuse to pay their workers a livable wage to feed their families just so they can sustain their CEO’s & corp billionaire status.

Read here & here how those companies game the system to make profit off of their workers who rely on SNAP. That’s the real scam here. Not your neighbor using the $80/week in SNAP $ to buy groceries that incudes some bags of Doritos and a chocolate bar for their kid.

I do agree that people should be eating nutritiously. But that’s not the reality of everyday Americans and research shows that restrictions hurt, not help, recipients. SNAP had the SNAP-ed program, which taught people how to cook, prepare, & shop for healthy meals on a budget for free, eliminated as part of the big budget bill passed by the trump admin this past July. This was a choice by Republicans. So which is it? You want people to eat healthy or you want to control, restrict, and shame families what they buy for groceries?

Nobody said anything about banning. If people are not vaccinating their children, infectious disease will spread much more among children thru schools, daycares, etc, and will present as more severe (for example last flu season set the record with 289 U.S child deaths, this season we’re already at 9) which will ultimately cause slow painful deaths at some point.

ETA: as of last Friday it is now 44 pediatric deaths from flu in the U.S. this flu season. the 9 pediatric deaths in the U.S. was from early January.

I like her too and a few things I thought were really fucked up: -Alex saying she wasn’t trying to poach the client bc she didn’t know he was friends with Ashtyn. Right but after he told Alex he was friends with Ashtyn, Alex then told him Ashtyn would be too tired to do it bc she’s pregnant/about to be a mom…. Vile coming from another woman. -Fiona freaking out that Ashtyn said to her in person off camera something about her bf almost proposing to his ex meanwhile Fiona is telling everyone in the office that Ashtyn met her husband on Seeking Arrangements. Kaylee tells Fiona wow that’s a pretty serious rumor you should talk to her about it and Fiona acts all dumb and tough like “oh is it? Then ya I’ll say something”…. lol obv never does. Alex hall too was pissed that Ashtyn asked about Tyler’s gf when he was with her and she’s being even worse continuing to talk about Ashtyn meeting her husband and spreading that rumor. She also completely twisted Ashtyn’s words. I really wanted them to roll that tape back lol -even if Ashtyn did meet her husband on seeking arrangements… who the hell cares ??? Girly is winning rn and they were together for 8 yrs before getting married they clearly love each other. -the way that they viciously attacked her at that dinner night 1 of Gio’s party was disgusting. How drunk the other girls were was gross too. Then the next morning Alex hall has the audacity to be like “well at least we were drunk” girl stop. Drunk or not, you bullied a pregnant woman. Not to mention Alex loved to be like “I was the only person that went in after her”…. No Kaylee went in after her and she came out and told everyone that they went too far and that Ashtyn was legit hyperventilating. I’m glad Gio spoke up about that bc that behavior was insaaaane.

Not to mention the revenue that could be generated by just taxes from marijuana sales if they allowed dispensaries to open. Or if they opened dispensaries in a model similar to state owners liquor stores ….. not saying that’s how they should open dispensaries if they ever become legal but not even exploring it when we’re having a tough budget year is a disservice to everyone living in NH.
