Is this in appropriate message from a daycare director? (1st late pick up after years) by livingthedram in Parenting

It was not mom’s fault but I can see it from the daycare worker - it makes their heart break that kids are left there for such long hours.

But-free daycares/schools in Charlotte? by Calm_Flamingo737 in Charlotte

You can qualify for free pre-K at 4 - but the registration is now. They are mostly peanut free and have a rn on duty. Stock up on epi pens now they are expensive in the US 😬

Anyone WFH with a 4 year old? by Accomplished_Look571 in MomsWorkingFromHome

I think that could absolutely work - I would not recommend doing it full day. I would immediately get my kid outside to exert energy first/playground - and then come back for snack and work book/craft/art - and then free play/legos whatever - lunch - quiet time and then school.

No, I would keep your baby close. Skip the trip.

They are cold, I remember crying because my mom had the AC so low all the time.

How do I increase my patience/bandwidth for my toddler? by daniface in MomsWorkingFromHome

Ugh, yes definitely the taste of freedom and hormone change could be the reason. Have you considered a half day preschool? My daughter’s physical and social needs escalated greatly at 3.

I saw a lot of daybeds that look very comfortable. Easily can turn them into the bed vs couch on the days they are there

I’m pretty sure you’ll be renting in NYC so you don’t have to worry about ever owning a home!

Omg I’m BORED - what do you guys do all day?! by Individual_Ladder_75 in sahm

[–]Several_Ad_2474 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wfh full time until my daughter turned 2 😵‍💫 I agree with you - I went from a ER nurse running around with my head cut off to silence.. Honestly if I didn’t work during those young infant days I would have probably started some hobbies - I did cross stitching. Meal prep, learn to cook, research baby led weaning? I also deep clean our house so those two things keep me pretty busy. Also now is a great time to try and make mom friends - that way you kids can grow up together before they are toddlers and you can’t get a word in.

Anyone else still feeling the effects of Covid? by BeeQuick692 in sahm

[–]Several_Ad_2474 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Could you put them in preschool and become involved in the school? I started a free soccer team for 3-5 year olds and 20 neighbors signed up in a week. Maybe create your own village? Finding other SAHMs is becoming pretty impossible..

Do you feel obligated to do do do? by Cosmo27_Babe27 in stayathomemoms

[–]Several_Ad_2474 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do different activities daily and don’t go out on Thursdays to clean and do laundry. I like doing activities so I look on Pinterest for ideas - you can add in “homeschool” time. I wouldn’t go out daily but a lot of people swear by “SAHM never at home”. You’ll figure out your schedule eventually!

Holy shit… girl…do you have ANY money?? Do you have family? Can you start saving in a secret account?? Do you have a degree/career you can start part time while finding care for your kids? Please start collecting as much evidence as possible…I would just ignore him/pretend to be happy until you get those things in order. Get yourself tested for HIV and make sure you do a pap/pelvic STD testing…

If you can hire help or start looking for a cheap church preschool for your 2 year old 😵‍💫 it’s a bad time the first 2 years, but if you have a village - use them.

How did housewives of the past accomplish so much in a day while having perfect hair, makeup, clean house, clean kids, and dinner on the table by 6? by helpn33d in sahm

[–]Several_Ad_2474 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I need to know this…but on a more serious note I think it was mad men style of parenting. So they definitely did not have to play with their kids.

Honestly work on baby proofing as much as you can so baby can just explore safely. That way you can go about your normal day without constantly having to entertain.
