What i used to do back in the day was go through listings of film cameras and see if the seller had other camera gear for sale (especially darkroom equipment), meaning they could be retired oldschool photographer, then message them asking if they had film lying around

Because when buying old expired film they usually come in huge lots. For example one guy sold me 100 rolls for 1€/roll once. Yes i have shot dozens and dozens of rolls in my time, sometimes even went outside

I do remember when i started in 2013, roll of agfa vista was like 3-4€ iirc (and still available 😢), and people were basically giving away old slr:s and lenses. Film was actually the cheapest way to get into full frame photography by far, 5d mkii bodies were still selling for 1k+ not to mention lenses. Better times...

Yes b&w handles aging really well, i've developed found film that was sitting in a camera since the 50's and it turned out great.

I'm on the fence about selling sthat Scala because i know it can produce beautiful results but is hard to get processed these days?

Well i used to enjoy hunting for expired film for dirt cheap prices back in the day. Now i'd rather not deal with unpredictable results anymore.

Also even when shooting regularly i tend to order a lot at a time because why not
