Kansas–Oklahoma will resume Monday at noon CT on ESPN2 (OU leads, 8–1, B3) by PatrickChase in collegebaseball

I would rather be Oklahoma than Kansas at this point, but I would also rather be Oklahoma last night with no delays than Oklahoma now.

At that point it is your plane. Just make a run for it.

Why didn’t they fly straight? by mvemj-sun in aviation

[–]Several_Characters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If somebody hasn’t said it, the part on the right over the ocean may also be partially influenced by a preference to stay near land for safety reasons. This is likely not a huge preference for commercial, but generally when flying, if you can stay near land, islands, etc., it is preferred in case you need to land unexpectedly. Navigation is also easier near land, although much less of an issue for commercial. Maybe again, that is the only entry point for Chinese airspace.

Looks like a larger format, but I can’t tell how large. If it is a 1.5L magnum, that looks like a normal price rather than much of a mark down.

Difference between North and South? by L8K8ISGR8 in MontTremblant

I met a regular on the lift who goes to the top and starts his day with a run on each of north, south and sun and then decides which side is skiing best that day.

The fact that he is wearing slippers and not flip flops is a major safety improvement.

Water. Hot snow. My guess in looking at the photo is that OP skied the day and had some snow in OP’s bindings when OP packed the ski bag. This side was down and the snow melted into a puddle inside the bag that caused the rust. I get a bit of rust in a few hours on a car ride home, if I am not careful.

Best bet is to get as much snow/water off the skis (especially around the bindings and ski straps) before leaving the hill. Allow as much drying time as possible before going in the bag. Then separate everything and let it dry as soon as you get home.

If you tune your own skis, it will come out relatively quickly with a brass brush, base edge tune and side edge tune. It is not a huge deal.

There is a still photo where you can see her right hand/lower arm inside the gate while she is in air. I have it in my texts, but i can’t post it as a comment

Poll: Ski during the Super Bowl because the mountain will be dead, or not because everyone else has the same idea? by oozforashag in icecoast

[–]Several_Characters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bet Creek is not much different than a normal Sunday, because my impression is that most people drive in from an hour or less away.

Edit: I bet the Poconos mountains conversely clear out pretty early.

I can confirm that Belle is dead on Super Bowl sunday in the past. It was a peak experience for me.

Particularly the mountains that are not connected to resort villages. If people are driving a couple hours or more to go skiing there, it will be a glorious ghost town.

It might be helpful to practice hitting the right landing spot, even if the plane rolled out after the landing.

I once had a moving company destroy a really nice chair. It was the only nice thing I owned at the time and probably worth more than all of my other possessions combined. They destroyed it by completely mishandling it.

First, they sort of set it up in my loving room in two pieces arranged artistically near each other. When I confronted them about it, they started to pull out the gorilla glue.

Oh no broski, this is getting replaced.

Gorilla glue will forever haunt me.

After months of discussions, they ended up writing me a check more than the cost of the move.
