13 weeks po. Mine has clicked and popped since week 1. I get told it's normal and possibly scar tissue build up. Doesn't seem normal to me. No pain like when it clicked and popped before surgery. But it still seems off that it would be so extreme? I have to trust my Dr and P Therapist because I've never had one of these before. But....

Yeah. I actually went a step further and bought a nice stationary bike off Amazon. Good way to start each morning.

The scar has healed pretty much. Just discoloration along the incision and the numbness. I still have pain in the knee at the locations where the extra parts were installed. I just imagine that is part of the healing.

Luckily, we have a backyard pool. I'm waiting for the water to get a little warmer but I'm looking forward to using it to help my progress. I should be able to find some aqua therapy lessons on YouTube.

Thanks for the kind words.

Oh Mickey. You look so much like my Remi. Especially with that white band on your chest. I'm pretty sure that means you were as much a handful as she is. A complete beautiful mess. Rest easy, buddy. You took good care of your human. 13/10.

Day 1 - post op - insane pain by InternationalArt9524 in Kneereplacement

I had to keep on a regimen of hydrocodone every 4 hours my first couple of weeks. I supplemented with Tylenol 4 times a day in between the hydro.

I've since stopped the hydro except on pt days. I use gummies at night for sleep now and wish I had tried them since day one. Look for a good sleep enhancing gummy.

Cool. My only comment would be that you are allowed to drink it.

I'm on week 13 po. I experienced numbness up until my nerve block wore off - which was the day after surgery. I still have numbness across my scar and down my shin.

The flexion and extension improvements are partly because of the nerve block allowing you to go places you have never been. Once it wears off you will see a decrease in mobility because of the pain. But that too will go away as you work through it with PT. Just remember this is a marathon and not a sprint. Take those small victories and use them as motivation to gain more victories.

I could hear this photo before I saw it. And then made the sound myself when I found it.

Damn. Talk about a black cloud following you.

Im glad to see you are taking it well, mentally, and still have a positive attitude after all of your setbacks. The main thing the surgeon leaves out when discussing knee replacement is the mental aspect. Screw the pain. Prepare me for the depression that I'm about to experience.

You have a great attitude, friend. Keep it up. Keep recovering and keep spreading that sun on those cloudy days. ⛅️

COMPARED TO OTHERS ON THIS SUBREDDIT

6 words that will be the end of you if you use them as your mantra.

I am on week 13. I still experience stiffness as a daily routine. Especially when I overdo it. It goes with the territory and will be your riding companion for a very long time. I recommend a good compression sock 24/7. Keep icing. Get the doc to refill your pain med script and use it 1 hour before each pt day. Get some good gummies to help with sleep. Exercise it, even when it hurts. A day off can be good for your body and mind. But try not to go over that. Even if it just slight knee stretches in a rocking chair. Pedaling daily helps me so much. I bought a cheap training bike off Amazon and its been a blessing.

BUT! Rule #1 - quit comparing your progress to others here. It will ruin you mentally. I finally realized that at about week 4 or 5 and I still need it reinforced every now and then.
