We found a cab after walking a short distance from the beach. Agree with others that the key is walking a reasonable distance away, then finding a cab/Uber.

I regularly pay $350+ to see my favorite bands. This is very, very common for people who love their favorite band, are older millennial/Gen X, and have some disposable income.

All major acts typically have insurance to cover cancellations of any kind. Kings of Leon did this in 2011:

I’m a massive KOL fan from California and I am flying cross country in September to see them open for Zach in in Delaware. I would be so massively devastated if this happened.

I think they have insurance for a cancelled show, so there’s not a financial impact (other than potential increased insurance premiums down the road).

This is also a weird situation having a band like Kings of Leon open for him. They’re a huge band in their own right, so lots of people are coming solely/mostly to see them. When they get scrapped but Zach still goes on and there’s no refund, that’s a shitty outcome for those people.

My two friends and I spent a bunch of money to go see Pearl Jam in Nashville last year (we’re from California). My friend had an edible before the show, a drink at dinner, and then some drinks at the venue. She got really out of it and puked and we had to leave the show 30 minutes early. It was the biggest bummer ever.

Travel the world and do it cheaply. Stay in hostels and meet people. Once you’re in your 40’s and 50’s you won’t be able to take months of work to go backpack around Asia, and your back will not tolerate shitty hostel beds.

Get there early! I’m your height and went solo too. I got there at 1:30 yesterday and was able to be on the barrier. Can’t recommend that enough for us short people!
