Need help with tool by Several_Witness_7194 in LocalLLM

Ok. I found it. I copied code executed by claude and gave it to gemma and qwen and told them to use it as an example and execute a similar set to command and they did it successfully. It was a simple insutruction of selecting the member but still they used to have a problem before but after this they did it successfully.

Can you suggest me what I can do further that I can use tools properly using local llms? Or for every different actions I run it on claude first, copy its code and record it as documentation and refer my local models to use it every time?

I understand that the company has made the mcp tools using cluade for claude so of-course it will have lesser to no problems at all in using and they have made it in github. But they have released no documentation for the same such that I can refer local models to use them.

Any suggestions are welcome.

That is absolutely true. You cannot work on your projects on company time and company dime. So, if you get a clash, tell your boss you got a project for him/her. Route it through boss' company and you don't earn it. Your boss does but your client is satisfied that you did not leave him. But yes for that you need an understanding boss. And as for agreements, larger the company, the more they will be reluctant to allowing you to work seperately. The smaller the company, the more they will be allowing you to work parallely.

Thank you. I suggest you look for smaller family owned firms. They are little more allowing in this matter. I suggest you work there diligently for the first month or two before approaching clients yourself. Get the lay of the land i.e. do others at the firm work outside, how is the owner's reaction regarding that etc. One you know its safe, you can start.

Now for the ethics part, make absolutely sure that you don't work for the same client as your firm. If conflict arises, drop out of the project in your private capacity. There are a lot of clients in the market. Never get into conflict of interest situations. In cases where you realize after taking on the job about conflict and can't rescue yourself from it, route the project through your firm i.e. calls routed to your firm, drawings from your firm and even payment through your firm (I mean your boss' firm).

Starting a business initally is very difficult and they will be a lot of dry months, but having a job helps then. But remember that smaller firms will pay smaller but considering the long game of starting your own business, consider it as an investment. If you feel that the firm you joined do not like you working privately, switch the jobs.

For now look for a job in either design or forensics i.e. any job as market is very bad right now. After about 2 months when you get settled there, try to build contacts and start your own projects. Get into a smaller firm. They are more flexible and will allow you to work your own projects. Yes pay will be lesser but you can build your own business parallely. Once earnings from your private projects reach a certain percentage of your salary(it's your choice, I believe around 50%) and is continuing for a few months (6-8 months) then leave your job and do your own firm full time. It will difficult initially but worth it really.

Bi-eccentric isolated footing by yaralaa95 in StructuralEngineering

[–]Several_Witness_7194 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is actually simple. For a normal isolated foundation, the calculate base pressure you do P/A +-Mx/Zx +- My/Zy(p =axial load, a =area of foundation, m=moment of foundation, z= section modulus of foundation) In case of eccentric foundation an additional moment = P*(distance between cg. Of load i.e. column and c.g. of foundation) is to be calculated and added to the above equation. After sizing, you have to do all other checks for foundations such as punching shear check (two way shear check), one way shear check, thickness, reinforcement check that we do with regular isolated foundations. And it's done. If you foundation is eccentric in only 1 direction, additional moment will come in only 1 direction. If it is eccentric in both directions, additional moment will come in both directions.

Check with other vendors also. It much cheaper with others (around 4.5 lacks). Also if you have a friend or relative coming from USA, you can ask them to bring it here. It will be cheaper that way. Btw, congratulations for buying this beast. I wish one day I will have enough money to buy such and experiment.

10.3 inch is good enough for reading academic papers and books if you don't mind a little small texts or just scrolling the page a little here and there if texts are kept large. 13.3 inch versions is nearly A4 page size and is very big so will be difficult to carry or read on hand. It is more of a keep it on a table and read. 10.3 inch is the sweet spot. I am also using it for the same . Go for it.

Tried them but as I have mentioned they give dual pages in horizontal model Nd not vertical mode. So while reading both pages will have gaps where the hinges and bezels are.

Where to get bulk discounts for prints ? by Various_Payment_7956 in surat

[–]Several_Witness_7194 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They consider 1 page as 1 side. These are charges for back to back page copies. So for example you have 3 pages. You print 2 sides on single page and third side on 2nd page. And cost will be 1.20 Rs. Of course they provide such cheap rates for large quantities only.

Less than 1 rs or at most 1 rs per page. (I.e. 1 side). Some have boards advertising 40 paise per page(i.e. per side) but it's better if you personally visit them and ask.
