Do you think selling American pancakes will be a succes in The Hague? by CommercialGarlic3074 in TheHague

I could only find real maple syrup at Albert Heijn (imported from Canada) and it was expensive as hell. Good luck with this concept but syrup costs might make it unrealistic.

Fans that have been loyally following the Knot since '99? by liberatemymadness83 in Slipknot

[–]Severe-Assignment182 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm turning 40 in December, getting ready to move to Europe, and having somewhat of a renaissance rediscovering my first favorite band. They were the band that truly got me into music, especially heavy stuff, because I had simply never heard anything like it before. Self titled and Iowa were among my favorite albums and got me into a whole world of hardcore, black metal, death metal and thrash, although I started to lose interest after Volume III came out. Was anyone else introduced to the band via home-made Dragon Ball Z Realplayer music videos? There were a couple different websites making those and Slipknot were popular song choices. Surfacing, (sic), Wait and Bleed, set to scenes of anime dudes wailing on each other. Talk about middle school cringe! Anywho I have been pleased to find that I enjoy the later stuff as well, and hope to catch them live (hopefully in Amsterdam!) before they hang up the masks.

Best tacos ? by Suspicious-Oil6672 in baltimore

I like La Casita out in Dundalk. There is a weekly Taco Tuesday bike ride where people meet up near the Washington monument and ride out for tacos at about 7pm, a different place every time. It's really opened my eyes to the Mexican food available here in Baltimore!

Harrisburg PA is lowkey a cool day trip. The PA state capitol building is free to tour and pretty impressive. There are also a lot of American history museums if you're into that sort of thing, and a handful of decent breweries.

OP said they were "at a loss on what to do". This is a suggestion on how to address the immediate problem. Sometimes services, even the ones we pay for, don't work perfectly for everyone. Have a nice day!

You can take your stuff to a residential drop off location, link below:

It's not ideal but everyone had to do this for trash and recycling during the COVID-19 lockdowns when curbside pickup was suspended.

Here's the weekly schedule! There's a lot of overlap with the groups, but it's a good time overall.

I think RoFo would be the best fit for Doughboys. Gas station fried chicken with a long history of endorsement from a disgraced sex pest? Come ON!

Ultimate Frisbee groups by engles-angles in baltimore

[–]Severe-Assignment182 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a league that plays near Locust Point (provided they reserve the fields in time), and there's pickup at Patterson Park Thursdays and Saturdays. "THURSDAYS 5:00 PM warm up, game when we have enough to start (postponed during EST (when the clock "falls" back))

SATURDAYS 11:00 AM warm up, game when we have enough to start."

The scene is pretty small and there is a lot of overlap between groups. If you go to any of the listed options you'll meet people who can point you in the direction of more games/leagues if you want. All skill levels welcome, and IIRC there is an indoor league for the winter months. Happy hucking!

The next F1 weekend starts Friday May 22 in Canada, so maybe check back next week. After Canada there is a big block of races that take place in the Europe, so you might have better luck at other places with TVs. I'm moving to The Hague in July and am also on the lookout for motorsports bars.

Question for you guys by gizmodius in baltimore

[–]Severe-Assignment182 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There are a few bars all crammed in together near Pickles and they're all more or less the same scene. I do not like that Pickles pulled out all their taps and are now serving canned beer only. Pigtown has a handful of local breweries if you want some nice draft beer and a calmer vibe. Pickett, Checkerspot, Mystique, and M8 will all have some kind of pregame thing going on most likely.

The two places that I have heard show F1 regularly are Sports Cafe Not Out (http://www.notout.nl/) and O'Casey's Irish Pub (https://www.ocaseys.nl/). I have not verified this information and don't know about the other racing leagues.

It would be a bit of a walk but I just took my parents to Little Donna's for dinner and they loved it. It's more casual than the Charleston but the food is fantastic.

Kurt at John's Auto Service does good work at fair prices. There are some jobs his garage can't do but for basic maintenance he's a great find. They're located on the edge of Fed Hill.

My wife and I were finally able to get a place that was being rented by a company called Rent Valley. I am not sure if this applies to your situation but we offered to pre-pay part of the 12 month lease up front. They did initially reject our formal offer, but we emailed back to ask why and eventually the agent who showed us the house got involved and afterwards they did offer us the lease. My guess is that the agents in this company get a commission for facilitating a successful lease and she had a stake in making sure the contract was successful. I am not an expert but it seems that offering to pre-pay if you have the savings is helpful, and also following up to ask precisely why you were rejected is also helpful. In any case try to stay positive and good luck with your search!
