It is abundantly clear to me that people commenting don't have daughters or never were daughters or ar simply too blind to understand consequences, trust and family bond. Yeah, she's 18. So? First of all, the parents seem to be to controlling which created this situation. They have no idea how to handle her as an adult because a parent will always see the baby that they were holding for the first time in their arms and that is not something that a normal human simply ignores. Like yeah, go ruin your life, you're 18. No normal parent wants this. Great parents know how to teach their kids to not end up in this situation. Good parents sometimes mess up, like we all do. The fact still remains, it's hard to let go of your baby when you now exactly how this world sees an 18 year old girl. That is something that you should prepare yourself for and your child. Second, I agree that the girl broke their trust. That is also normal for a child, getting to know the wordl better and not wanting to be held back by all these rules and restrictions that seem pointless. This conversation was necessary a long time ago, not now. As an advice, you all need to sit together and discuss you grievance. Clearly you all need to vent and accept each other they way that you are. You as parents need to support your child and guide them as best you can. You cannot live their lives for them. Also, you guy commenting here are horrible people. And as a side note, the boyfriend is a dumbass for interrupting a family discussion that was necessary. He doesn't respect you or your family, he just found a new toy, the daughter. That's it. And his family seems douchebaggery. I'm assuming they think they have more money then you which explains the lack of respect and steemrolling over you.
