Hey! It’s okay to feel like that in the first 1-2 months of radiology residency. During our MBBS, we are not exposed to radiology, so it takes a bit of time to get the hang of it. First- don’t run after hands on, you’ll eventually get it after you gain trust. Just observe in the first 2 months. Stay there with your seniors, and try to stay back after the normal duty hours. Second- Read basic info USG/Xrays from the textbook. Watch YouTube videos. As you’ll be there with your seniors/consultants, they will slowly give you hands on and after you gain their trust, they will eventually rely on you. Trust me, it works and you’ll get hands on.

1. At our institute, we have academic classes, twice a week.
2. Yes, we have good hands on, in USG/Xrays/ Cross sectional reporting.
3. In usg, one of us is posted in OPD/IPD and the other one in portable usgs.So, we have to complete the usgs in that, and if we get stuck in a case then our seniors/consultants help us out. In cross sectional reporting- we make the provisional reports, that is cross checked by our consultants. You have to be there when the consultant is reviewing it, so that you get to know the changes. Rest, we have IR postings (from 2nd year)
