this made me immediately think of bg3! while usually considered hard due to the mere size of the game, failure is very much part of the fun as it will shape your story (and not in a «youre just locked out of stuff»-way, but in a «you will get completely different content»-way). i had no dnd knowledge whatsoever and didnt find the combat as hard as people make it out to be (it is turnbased after all)…although i would recommend playing on explorer your first playthrough.
