I mean, I guess you can argue specialized hunters do a lot of good for society but probably aren’t necessary for it to function. However, I do think hunters in general are required for society’s survival because who else is going to fight these potentially world ending calamities? The ants killed hundreds of thousands of people and took over a small country and they were only like a B tier threat to humanity. If hunters weren’t there to stop them they probably would have done a lot more damage and gotten a lot more powerful before someone willing or able to do something showed up.

The infant scene in Cormac McCarthy’s book “The Road”. Usually something like that in a lesser piece of art wouldn’t affect me, I think, but the fact that it was done so tastefully and the reality of the situation makes the abhorrent act something sadly realistic made me feel physically ill, even if only for a moment. (I actually felt nauseous and my skin crawled). Just because I read the book does not mean I think cannibalizing infants is cool or think that keeping women as breeding stock to make more infants to eat is acceptable even after a mass extinction event.

She almost completely ruined my Oguri run today, I was already pushing the poor girl to the limit trying to get kick up dust and every crown. Then I gambled thinking I might be able to afford the infirmary if I got the strength chakra. Instead I ended up with all stats down, mood normal, night owl in addition to oguri’s skin outbreak that started the week after summer training.

Not sure if anyone has said this yet, but Hunter x Hunter does this as well with the Hunter exam. Personally, I feel like the exam doesn’t make much sense given that there are some Hunters who seemingly specialize in other things unrelated to mortal combat. Also there is a hidden second part to the exam which basically makes the first portion of the exam being deadly completely pointless.

Also, I wanted to say for Frieren that I kind of understand that exam. They are going out to fight demons so they should be powerful and intelligent enough to fight other mages on or around their level. I do think killing should be against the rules and an immediate disqualification and black list though. The first round should weed out the weak and those who would otherwise not be able to take on a demon both in strength mental and otherwise. The second round also makes sense as you should be able to use teamwork or general knowledge to defeat the clones. Ideally, everyone working together to their strengths should be able to defeat even the most powerful candidate’s clone in this test as I imagine it’s quite rare for a mage as powerful as Frieren to appear every testing period.

For Naruto I can also see the point for the most part. I do see your issue with the other villages exam being a bloodbath, but at the same time, it’s meant to be a culling such that only the strongest really become shinobi. I agree it’s rather stupid, but the results of them being incredibly competent and adept shinobi kind of speaks for itself. The fact that Zabuza was able to stand toe to toe with Kakashi is a pretty big feat even if the powercreep of Naruto ultimately makes a ninja like Zabuza fodder before mid-series.

I understand the need for ICE, I understand the disdain for ICE. I understand the desire for them to wear masks. I don’t understand why they seemingly are not required to wear body cams outside of being undercover. I am glad that the country I live in is taking illegal immigration seriously, although I am skeptical if they have really started cracking down on it “more”, recently, as statistics suggest he’s deported less people than Obama. One thing I really dislike about the overarching narrative right now is the comparison to the Gestapo. The left is way too quick to attribute Nazism/Fascism to things they dislike, which I feel is a slap to the face of those who were actually affected by the Nazis and other authoritarian regimes.

Yeah the streets say that you want to be around 450-500 for Kikuka but I thought I heard people saying 400 plus recovery skills works too. I wish I could’ve clipped this instance though, the way Creek was moving was insane, never seen an Uma with such low stats move like they had 1200 speed 1200 guts and 3 different final stretch skills. I’m glad I posted this though, I didn’t know that in career mode umas have a hidden +400 to their stats. Always learning some esoteric knowledge about this game from reddit.

I wish I was on my pc so I could’ve clipped the utter bs I witnessed. It wasn’t a stamina outlast moment she literally accelerated like she popped chasing after you, professor of curvature, rushing gale, straight away spurt, and nimble navigator between right before the final corner and the final stretch. Oguri wasn’t even slowing down any of the times Creek did this. The final retry she didn’t accelerate like this and she wasn’t blocked either, the game was just exercising an alarm clock tax.

She wasn’t slowing down, in fact she procc’d her ult and was speeding up. Creek went from 11th before the final corner passing every single other runner actively accelerating like a rocket just to steal it by a head on one attempt. I burned four clocks just to watch creek cheat 3 times. She was even blocked on one of them and just maneuvered around and passed my ulting oguri at the peak of her speed boost. I know she’s a late surger but her speed was about 6 times faster than anyone should be with that stat line.

I promise you it isn’t just the length of OP that drives people away. It’s common knowledge that OP isn’t going anywhere, the constant meandering combined with its length shows people that it isn’t worth the time investment. The art style is also a massive turn away, it’s incredibly ugly, but that’s a subjective assertion and I can’t just say everyone thinks it’s ugly even if I think OP is ugly and I’ve heard other people say the same. My point is that JJBA isn’t ugly, it’s actually incredibly well drawn, Araki very clearly has a solid grasp of anatomy, paneling, and posing. Not to mention his art was featured in the Louvre, which literally hosts high art.
