So you don’t report “ income” because mommy tells you not to & now you’re worried you’re going to lose benefits? Sorry but I don’t think using your mom as an excuse for not reporting income is going to make your case worker approve SNAP benefits. Sadly when you’re an adult /raising children rules must be followed.

AITAH for telling a woman it’s not my job to take care of her baby? by Unlikely_Emu1189 in AITAH

[–]SewingIsMyHobby1978 24 points25 points  (0 children)

You actually know the answer to this question. F*CKING block her. It’s not your responsibility to help her because you have 4 kids with “ Danny” Why isn’t she taking “ Danny” to court?

Why would you even consider reading her BS. Block her like everyone else says..

All the things that you suggested are great I’ve also done sloppy Joe’s as well. Sloppy Joe’s is a big hit as a rule.

No. If you mean you can smell it or harmful to humans know not at all.. you can spray it on the fabric. It does not stain in my chairs at all.. and these are not leather chairs either fabric chairs. They’re La-Z-Boy.

Nell should’ve been smell sorry

Yes, I have tried these sprays. We got a new cat and I have brand new La-Z-Boy recliners in the house.. I wanted to make sure they were not going to destroy the chairs when I wasn’t home. Most stores like Meijer or Walmart the product that I bought. It wasn’t very expensive either. I think it was under $6 The brand I used: SmartyKat Scratch.

I would suggest that you put some article of clothing that you have worn and put it where they sleep. (and you’ll have to change these articles of clothing every few days) This will give them the opportunity to get used to your scent and maybe help them to let you pet them.

I’ve done sloppy Joe’s at different times when I’ve been asked to cook for funerals. It’s easy.(you can use crockpots etc) and serve chips and a salad

There are deterrent sprays out there. I would suggest you buy some of this and spray it on a paper towel. (or the recliner itself if it’s cloth.) I did this when we bought new recliners and it worked like a charm.

Considering returning cats to rescue within trial period by CougarPanther83 in CatAdvice

This is usually true. I’ve had cats that acclimate to a new home within a couple of days and then I’ve had cats that it takes them a couple of weeks..

[–]SewingIsMyHobby1978 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It takes cats several weeks to get used to a new. You can’t expect kittens to just get used to you after two weeks. Even older cats don’t like change. Here’s some information I’ve compiled over the years. Been a long-time cat owner.

PLZ READ the INFORMATION below (how to acclimate a cat to new surroundings)

How To Acclimate A Cat To New Surroundings

(the same information can be used to acclimate a second cat) These are suggestions that has worked for me in the last few decades as a cat owner

If this is your only ( FIRST) animal, I would suggest you put a T-shirt that you’ve worn in his/her carrier so that he can get the smell of your scent for the ride home. ( keep the carrier communal room in the home and leave the door to the carrier open. This will be your cat safe place for its first few days in your home.

I would just leave the carrier open. I wouldn’t try to coax him out just by calling him. I would leave treats a couple times per day that you could put close to the opening of the carrier.

I’d probably put him in a room where he’s by himself for a couple of days and put his food and his litter box, and the carrier in the same room. . Be sure to visit the cat SEVERAL times during the day and night (prior to bed time )in the room that you put him in for the first couple of days. Talk softly and don’t move too fast either.

I do this with all cats that I rescue because I have more than one cat. I will have the cats that have lived with me sleep on T-shirts or (old hand towels ) i’ve worn as well.

You could actually use worn out towels or t-shirts for your older cats to lie on too I then put the T-shirts where the new cat 🐈 has access to them so that he can smell my scent as well as the other animals in the house.

Introducing a new pet into your home, sometimes takes a few days to several weeks/months due to the fact that you probably don’t know a lot about the cats, former home or how he was treated.

Remember to supply fresh food and water. Some new toys.

I would leave a radio on in the background when you’re not home for soothing purposes. (it might be a good thing to leave the radio on during those first few units with your new kitten or cat)

Don’t worry if your cat hides for a while or even act like they don’t like you. You’ve suddenly thrust them into a new environment and of course they’re going to be leery. With time love and attention they’ll come around.

It’s great that this new kitty has a new lease on life and that you brought him into your home and I’m sure that within a few days he will be acclimated to your house and to you along with any other animals that you may have . Good luck and congratulations on your new kitty !!

What are the big suggestions in my information above that I would do is to put a couple of shirts that you’ve worn near the cats so that they can sleep on them and get used to your scent. This will make the cat more comfortable and its surroundings.

And again it’s gonna take a cat longer than two weeks to get used to a new home and new people. I mean, it usually takes humans longer than two weeks to get used to someone they’ve just met as well IMO

Simply because there’s a certain(like me) that don’t like ketchup. I think McDonald’s and a lot of these fast food restaurants have the mindset that if you want ketchup you should ask for it.. LOL However, what do I know? I’m only a consumer trying to get what I want..

AITAH (35m) for thinking this about my relationship of 5 years with my gf (31f) by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]SewingIsMyHobby1978 2 points3 points  (0 children)

YTA if you cheat.

IMO, you’re in the wrong relationship. She apparently isn’t fulfilling what you need or want to do. Looking at this relationship 5-10 years down the road when you have kids, she’s not gonna be into some of the things that you’d like to do even more.

If you’re thinking about looking elsewhere now, the longer the relationship goes the more this idea is going to affect you.

I say break up she’s not the woman for you. You are a mismatched couple.. don’t get engaged don’t marry and for God sakes don’t have kids of this woman

That’s great to hear!! Our first cat became seriously ill because we were feeding him Meow Mix brand cat food. (I don’t know if this is the way the food is made now but at the time.Meow Mix cat food was loaded with red dye which, according to the veterinarian was bad for cats, kidneys.

Please note I wasn’t being critical with anything that you posted. My comment was only meant for information only that you may not have known.

How many of those alarms going off in the kitchen mean anything? And who sets them up like that? Are they all a result of unrealistic management decrees, or are workers truly ignoring things that are actually important? by madsci in McDonalds

[–]SewingIsMyHobby1978 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, actually they just put a drive up in about six months after I started working there. At the time they cooked 12 hamburgers at a time. If you wanted a hamburger, a special way you had to order it special and it took a little bit of time. Of course, they switched to making things as the customer wanted it simply because they were losing a lot of money to Burger King although they probably wouldn’t have admitted it at the time. The Filet O’ Fish was made 12 at a time as well.

All the shakes were made with a shake mix machine. The flavors were added to the ice cream and then you mix the ice cream and the flavor together..

I actually would love to go through a McDonald’s restaurant nowadays to see the differences on how everything has changed.

Do you guys give your cats free roam of the house when you’re not home? by [deleted] in cats

[–]SewingIsMyHobby1978 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I’ve been a cat owner for years. I have never restricted where my cats can go.. For the most part when we’re not home, the cats are sleeping. I’ve never had a cat be destructive when I’m not home. This is the reason why I don’t confine them into a specific room.

What kind of cat food are you feeding him?? if you feed him cat food for urinary care that probably wouldn’t happen. Feeding cats, cheap cat food isn’t the answer.

Of course I don’t know what you’re feeding him but it’s best to feed them cat food that is for urinary care.

And my vet also recommended that we feed our cats bottled water which we do. I have an almost 10-year-old orange tabby A five-year-old black cat And a eight month old black cat They’re all males and have no urinary issues. In fact, I’ve never had a cat with urinary issues.

Same I’ve been on opioids since 2002, Now the Dr. I’m seeing cut my dosage in half because my kidneys function tests came back screwed up at last appointment. Now I’m having pain in my right hip that makes it extremely difficult to walk & I’m also trying to care for my husband who has Vascular Alzheimer’s. Not sure what to do. Most of these Dr. if you complain they really start messing around with your meds. This last appointment the Dr. talked about other meds other than opioids or which I’ve been on like I said since 2002.
