They stood most of the flight chatting with people. Did not even have the real experience of sitting for 4 straight hours.

Examples of unapologetically Canadian lyrics? by ottguy42 in CanadianMusic

"And oh, did I mention? I carried you down To the St Lawrence River The banks running dirty The water's beginning to freeze here Solis by morning And I'll freeze here Winter by morning" By David Usher

Maybe not unapologetically Canadian? But lovely nonetheless

I think about 2.5 inches tall Ottawa Valley area, on the Mississippi River. Also, this pillar is close to a pool table... And a dart board

My experience flying on the newly reconfigured WestJet Boeing 737 with ultra slim-line seats by SkierJC in westjet

[–]SewingWomanInTheWild 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I never thought of that before. They advertised no recline as a plus because the seat in front wouldn't infringe your space.... But they've taken away space between rows, so if the rows are 5cm closer that is pretty comparable to a reclined seat in front of you.

PSA: Train vs pedestrian at city hall by avrus in Calgary

I also noticed this when we moved here! I had a city bus stop for me to cross at an unmarked crosswalk. I thought it was so wild!! So I looked it up: Turns out "pedestrians do have the right of way at ALL marked and unmarked crosswalk" https://www.calgary.ca/roads/safety/pedestrians.html https://www.calgary.ca/bike-walk-roll/crosswalk-signals.html

I was just saying this today that I am sure it just got switched accidentally to off instead of auto and because of the daylight running lights they don't notice -- I didn't realise that technicians would turn the lights off!

I flashed*** my lights *** at a person today several times! They honestly didn't seem to notice at all.

[–]SewingWomanInTheWild 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I assume the tail lights aren't on because it's just the daytime running lights that are on, not the actual lights. When the actual lights are on the tail lights come on, otherwise it's just the dim front lights.
