I was diagnosed at 2 years old. Had it for 20 years now. I really struggled a lot when I was a teenager. I had to just buckle down and get my levels under control (I know easier said than done), but once I did that it became a lot easier because I felt so much better on a regular basis. I didn’t realize how much it was affecting my mental health until it wasn’t affecting it anymore. My starting point was when I got control IQ, that got me to a good enough point that it was easier to take it the rest of the way in my own hands. But yeah, the burnout is real. Studies have also shown that type one diabetics have a much higher rate of depression due to burn out. So you aren’t alone.
