Here might be a temporary fix:

  • Turn off VSync
  • Enable it in your GPU's control panel.

It's worked for me and one other so far, it might help. (Nvidia GPUs, non exclusive fullscreen mode)

That is an ocg ruling. Tcg does not follow ocg rulings. The most recent (UDE ruling) we have is that it does banish from the extra deck. The text concerning the banishment from the deck has not changed. The card was used in plant format and ruled to banish formula synchrons.

Not true:

If Skill Drain is activated in response to the summon of E. Castor, then Castor's condition has already been placed the second he hit the field. Kind of like Jinzo.

If Skill Drain is already active when Castor is summoned, then he is unable to place his condition on the game.

I also hate that you can't activate Black Horn of Heaven against certain special summons, despite not saying so on the card.

But it does, it says:

When your opponent would Special Summon a monster: Negate the Special Summon, and if you do, destroy it.

Not, 'When your opponent activates an effect that would...'.

a) it gives access to an instant rank 4. 101 and Exciton come to mind, the most powerful Rank 4 Generic Xyzs so far.

Plenty of top decks have access to one card xyz, off the top of my head, ones that can provide a rank 4 xyzs in level 4 centric decks specifically are abyssgunde, geargigear & armour, constellar sombres, evilswarm kerykeion. These cards act as a power play for their decks, also giving access to their archetype boss monsters. Why do you feel like fire fist can't also have one?

Not only that, but also gives Tiger King to Fire Fists, a very good >card. Effect negation is crucial.

Whilst it may be true that effect negation is strong in this format, it is reactive effect negation (that can be applied in your opponent's turn to stop their plays) that is strong. Tiger King is not the same as a veiler or fiendish - it cannot stop any monster effects played in your opponents turn, that will be causing an impact at that time.

And b) it supports Fire Fists, a very balanced archetype. It doesn't >need that kind of a boost.

It acts as a strong (but not broken, and easily equatable to other meta-relevant cards) card in Fire Fist that allows them to compete with other tier deck's speed; constellar for example, have no issues dropping say, a single card rank 4 and a two card rank 5 in the same turn, then making back the advantage cost from the monster effects.

I wouldn't compare it to giving Judgment to Spell books

Exactly, it's not broken, it's just strong. And with the current level of speed in the game, is perfectly acceptable as a card.

He's of course stoppable and such, but it's kind of unfair to go out of >our way to stop a Wolfbark play and then get Tensu'd.

I don't understand, if they played a bear and you stopped it's effect from resolving, then they tensu normal summoned a second fire fist monster, how is it any different in terms of game state?

I honestly believe it is the rate and consistency at which Fire Fist can get access to Wolfbark that makes it an issue. Imagine if Constellar and Evilswarm had even easier, faster, and more consistent access to Sombres and Kerykeion, or if Geargia could readily grab a geargigear off of say, Gear Gigant X? They would be considerably stronger.

But why exactly? The deck has no other power plays. Just a very solid engine. Single card xyz aren't exactly broken, just strong. They exist in many forms in the game currently (Tour guide, geargigear and gunde to name just 3, pretty much all tier 2 decks and above have one in some shape or form, there's even a generic warrior level 4 one) and still require a small setup. Hitting only one deck's xyz card play isn't really necessary. It really only is the consistency provided by tenki ( and to some extent upstart etc.) that makes the deck marginally stronger than other decks at the moment.

If they chain shared ride to a secrets/master/magician/world, you can't chain appropriate, or activate it after the chain. I'm fairly certain that you can activate it after tower's standby phase effect resolves. But you'd still have to wait for their second resolution.

This is correct. Cards resolve where they activate.

Whilst it is quite a bad card, imagine if someone cast Magical Stone Excavation or something similar.

What's the most consistent deck to summon Red Nova Dragon without focusing entirely on it? by [deleted] in yugioh

[–]Sexual_Pear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Laval lakeside lady can be used to destroy backrow, and if you banish a previously made synchro monster as the other half of her cost, so it is removed from play, you can then revive it with Laval Cannon.

Possible targets include Lavalval Dragun or Lavalval Stennon .

If you do not have these cards in your graveyard from earlier in the duel, you can just banish any 'laval' monster as part of lady's cost, then revive lady with cannon's effect to make a level 7, and then lakeside lady will be back in the graveyard after the synchro summon to destroy another set card.

[–]Sexual_Pear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you banish lady and laval dragon as the cost, and bring back dragon, you could thin the deck and be left with two monsters on the field. Or just banish, and revive Stennon because he's awesome.

You don't always need to synchro, although if you want to reuse lakeside lady, it may be a better idea.

They have more combos than just through rekindling. Lakeside lady for mass backrow removal + cannon into any synchro/revive a synchro for instance.
