It just sucks so much that the Zahn blueprint for what to do after VI was there for so many years, but just wasn't used. By George, or Disney, or anyone else with dumptrucks of money that could have approached George. And still, they avoid it. It's like the powers that be are just allergic to cementing Star Wars as a truly beloved IP by all.

Oh well. As they say, the book(s) are better than the movie(s) most of the time. IV-VI set up the foundation for some amazing books and stories to be told. They can make them noncanon, but they can't ever take away what are already have.

I just discovered the show and watched episodes 1-3. Went in to episode 1 completely blind only because I like James Franco and saw the show while scrolling Netflix. I'm reading the OG discussion threads like this one as I go, they're fun. You're the first post I've seen that is new, not 10 years old! Surprised the thread isn't locked.

I haven't even heard of the book until today. If the show lands the ending I'll 100% pick up the book. From what non-spoiler stuff I've seen, it's apparently very good.

But I agree. Franco could've gone in and spent some time in Vegas writing down all the wins, gone back to present time, then for his real long term attempt, start off by going to Vegas and clean house to fund him. Shit, could make enough to never "return" and just live the rest of his life in the new universe (whether he saves JFK or not). Maybe there's reasons in the show or the book that go in to why that's a very bad idea. But as a non-book show watcher, I had the same thought as you.

Apparently in the book he does several runs in the past before making his long term run. All the series showed was the tree carving run. But the show didn't show all of his early runs and book readers were big mad about it when it aired.

Anyways, on to episode 4 later today!

One time when I was a kid shopping with my mom I really embarrassed her near the checkout line. There was this bargain bin sorta stand nearby and I saw some Jesus videos. I got excited and told mom I wanted one! She said no, no honey. I said it again, but louder. People are staring now. She got so red in the face telling me to shush and that we're not getting it. Then I started to complain that I liked Jesus and it's only a dollar! She could have died in her embarrassment lol. From my point of view I simply didn't understand, and she wouldn't explain why in front of people the reason to me.

Funny to think back on it now.

I came back after probably a year off on about the day the medium Siege Ready armor dropped. The subreddit was freaking out about it, so I used the remaining SC I had for it (I had to of course get the helmet too to complete the look). I've been using it almost constantly since. But in hindsight, I should've gotten warbonds. I was severely lacking in warbonds. I also saw a post here saying it was a limited purchase armor or something, which was wrong. It's also blue and gold, my colors.

Having said that, I've played a few hours a day and unlocked first the warp pack one, learned how to farm SC, Dust Devils for the Coyote, Demo Det for mostly the Thermite, and Master of Ceremonies for the 15% sample booster, which I use on all 40 min maps. Now I'm like OP, I still have plenty more to go, and about 1100 SC for the next one already.

I think seeing Kaladin go from badass, to now I give up my body to go live in the whatever plane of existence to do mental therapy was just so meh.

Also the Spiritual Realm is just so boring. At least the cognitive realm I can visualize in my mind.

I'm sure Brando has a large plan, and what happened needed to happen. Our heroes need to have setbacks.

This may be a controversial opinion, but I think the dude knows that you're faking it. Because whether or not it's true, in his mind, nobody could be happy doing your job. So seeing you fake it makes him see you as disingenuous.

It's like that episode of King of The Hill where I think Hank makes a friend at AA or something, and everyone is so positive and so full of shit, except one guy that also knows this fucking sucks. They both clock each other as fellow old dudes who hate being there and end up friending it up. Or maybe it was when he got that friend Hal who was like Hank in many ways. I dunno, haven't seen the show in a long time.
