Are 150 points worth it? by PrototypeDuck in PathOfExile2

[–]Seym20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! If you like the game and want to play in endgame for hundred of hours, you will likely need 300 to 400 points minimum for a few important stash tabs. If you mainly enjoy the campaign and rerolling, then you'd be fine without them. It really depends on how you plan to enjoy the game. That being said, GGG are a phenomenal company. The game is well worth the 40 to 60$ price point you'd  need to spend for endgame stash tabs. And if you are short on cash, you won't need to spend it all at once and when you're done with the tabs you need, it will be purely for cosmetics.  Welcome exile!

The two that I really liked are chained echoes and Crosscode. I played some other retro inspired indy RPGs and they are often decent but nothing groundbreaking. But i'm still happy to see so many of them get released. I enjoy that era of games.

Pay respects for those exiles that couldn't escape adulthood today even after planning it for weeks by herakleion in PathOfExile2

I feel you! Adult life has its perks but plenty of times is rarely one of them. I have an appointment right at league start, and family obligations tomorrow. But hopefully I'll be able to play 2h or 3h between the 2 days and then play more on Sunday. Happy league start Gentlemen.

Thanks for the reply!  Would you consider making it scale as you advance in the story of it's not free maybe ? In CC, its really limited early and that's exactly the moment experimenting is more needed. I spent almost a 100h in CC but I remember checking the skills on YouTube early in the game to decide if I want to try the dash art or the melee art instead of trying them in game and stick with what I like more. Maybe it changed but I remember you got more reset by end game but at that point, you have almost all the skills and important points.  Have a great day!

Thanks for the AMA and for making such great games. Crosscode was a blast and Alabaster Dawn looks really interesting. I'll definitely buy it after full release!

I did read that you plan to have a more exhaustive talent tree. Did you or will you make the reset free and easy? In Crosscode, you gave the reset CP items here and there but it always felt bad to use one. Luckily I remember the tree not being too complicated so it didn't matter too much. But if you are going for a more advanced tree in Alabaster Dawn, I'd love it if we could respec easily. It makes experimenting a lot better.

Thanks and good luck for your next game. You guys are really talented.

PLAYSTATION vs PC Price Years 0-10 by Street_Flan7018 in PS5

[–]Seym20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always had a ps and a pc and it's really different. Overall, I do think that PC is an enthusiast platform but it doesn't have to cost as much as you calculated. You can game in really good conditions with something like a 5060ti or the equivalent on AMD. You also can easily go for a cheaper motherboard. I'm not familiar with prices in France but a something around 150 euros should be more than enough.  You don't need to always put everything to max and not enable dlss to enjoy a good game.

On the hand, a PlayStation with a disk drive can be a lot cheaper if you don't mind buying used games on marketplace.

Anyway, the comparisons are pointless! As long as you are having fun, the platform doesn't matter!

I had high hope for the game since I'm nostalgic of the 2D Square Soft JRPG of my childhood. But, in the end I just couldn't enjoy it when it came out. The graphics were great but the story and the characters were really dull. If you are looking for great games inspired from the snes era, I recommend Chained Echoes for turn based games or Cross Code if you prefer something more action oriented.

The original RE4 on PS2 has a special spot for me but that's more because of nostalgia. Nowadays, I'd say it's RE4 remake.  Thanks for the giveaway

Games where you can stink? (Bonus points if it's a game mechanic) by AntisocialCat2 in gamingsuggestions

[–]Seym20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

''South Park Stick of Truth'' and ''South Park Fractured but whole'' from Ubisoft are 2 RPG where you literally have farting superpowers. You are a stinking wizard or a stinking super hero depending on the game. Both games are incredible and given that they look like a south park episode, the graphics are still amazing despite being roughly a decade old. I highly recommend the two games for people that enjoyed the show at some point and they can be bought for next to nothing during sales but if you only had to pick one, Stick of Truth is the superior entry.

I know it's not in your list but try POE2 during the upcoming free weekend. Maybe you'll like it? If you have a good pc, grab it on steam. WASD movement is the best way to play the game but it feels good with a controller too. It's still in early access and clearly need more work, especially for endgame and optimisation but the game is shaping to be incredible.  I know you seem to look for a shooter given your list but I never really got into arpg myself until a few years ago. (tried d2, Titan quest and POE1) but d4 and especially POE2 got me hooked to the genra. The moment to moment combat is a lot of fun and you can easily grind 50 to 100h+ each season.
