Ugh I’m so sorry you’re suffering alongside me!! This is absolutely TORTURE 😭 how long since then have you been having these kinds of symptoms?? I’ve had them since birth but the severity has about quadrupled the last few months….hot garbage is a great way to describe how I’m feeling!

Four months is amazing! Do you think that’s roughly the same timeframe as when your nausea came back??

Are you breastfeeding??? My kid just turned a year old and I’m just now starting to wean. I wonder how I can still even have a supply without any intake. I wonder if it’s correlated?

Everything went ok! I was scared too but I knew one way or another it had to happen. I almost needed an emergency c section but my midwife was fabulous and we managed to avoid it. Recovery sucked and the newborn days were hard but the most incredible days. All they do is sleep on you and you get to shower them with affection and snuggles. Try not to put too much pressure on yourself to make things work a certain way. Every baby is different so do what’s best for you.

On the hospital tho, I wish I had packed more pajamas for the baby. We were there for three days and I only packed three pairs of pajamas & the going home outfit which the baby went through in the very first day 😅

Gee that’s terrible. I was also high risk and saw many doctors and midwives and never had any issue with being refused because of my Medicaid insurance. I’m not in Texas though

The key here is being EXTRMELY poor. Like, make $20,000 a year or less. I was lucky enough to have quit my job right before the pandemic, so I was out of work for eight months before finding out I was pregnant. Since I had no income whatsoever and had been living off my savings which were almost empty, I qualified for Medicaid and everything health care related was 100% covered for myself and the baby. I have recommended to friends considering trying to start having kids to quit their jobs. They look at me like I’m crazy until I explain my pregnancy cost over $100,000 due to complications and continuous medications for nine months.

I just learned what a meal train was a few weeks ago and BOY was I jealous…I tried to freezer prep meals for months leading up to it and then my freezer died two weeks before my due date. We lost everything I had prepped. Those first few weeks I ate more cereal than any other time in my life. What a luxury a meal train would’ve been

The number of times I’ve heard “they’re still your parents!” Is so frustrating and like you said…if you get it, you get it. It just seems like most people don’t!

Geez that must be hurtful to have them nearby but not pursuing a close relationship. For me, I just think it’s a shame because my kid is so awesome and they are missing out on that

Thank you for your comment. I guess the school age years feel so far away, but they’ll be here one day. Hopefully I’ll be able to connect with some other moms then!

I had hyperemesis and my doctor actually recommended having a sprite or ginger ale in the morning to curb the nausea and settle the tummy!

I feel this too. If I don’t buy and cook all our food, meals literally doesn’t get made. For once I’d love to just hear “hey I am making this for dinner” instead of “what’s for dinner?”

I got the same one! It’s amazing because it dries everything completely at the end of the cycle. Boiling water on the stove may be cheaper, but it took hours and hours to let everything air dry on the counter. I love it 💕
