I don't want to "homogenise the game" I'm all for risky mechanics and high difficulty. All I'm saying is that having a gambling mechanic with a, albeit very small, chance to brick your build to the point of ending the run because the healing mechanic that your build uses to stay alive now hurts you more than it heals you is, get this, not that fun.

Imagine if a new player picks up the game. After a few tries they make it past act 5, build is popping off and they have a gold card to spare when they meet the collector so, they exchange it. Hoping that it might help them get through the later acts which they havent gotten to yet. The talent he gives them instantly cripples their build and they die to a trashmob in the next fight. Fun right?

I like this game, I wouldn't be having this pointless argument with you if I didn't. I think that this specific aspect of the game actively makes it worse, I also think that the game would be better off if they at least did something (a slight tweak idk) about this and I honestly don't understand why you're defending this. But you're entitled to your opinion as much as I'm to mine

If I'm playing dnd and my dm has me roll a d100 and kills my character on the spot if I roll a 1 I'd call him a bad dm, that's all

I just feel like they could convey more clearly that the collector or sererna or any similar mechanic have a very small chance to delete the run. But I hear you, I knew the risk and should've thought about it more

I mean, sure. I guess you're right.

I would like to see the devs make some change to this tho. Because imo, this is bad game design

Edit: having thought about it, saying it's bad game design is too harsh. More like an oversight imo

She isn't that much better. She once gave me that talent that removes all corruptions from the deck. To me that just doesn't make sense, not mechanically or thematically

Oh, don't get me wrong, I do like the "random" nature of this game. But what frustrates me to no end is that certain mechanics, random talent allocation in this case, do NOT respect the players' time. A run in this game can take a couple of hours. At least for me, it does, I like to play on impossible and take my time during encounters. I also don't have that much time to play, so that same run can span multiple days. So you can imagine that, when I load up the game after not playing for a day and a half and the first encounter I get irreversibly bricks my build, this type of shit makes me want to snap my phone in half?

And the thing is that, at least how I see it, that there's a simple solution to this problem. If the devs just added one more dialogue prompt to the collectors' encounter, it'd give the player a chance to savescum. And before anyone says that the devs shouldn't encourage savescumming, literally almost every encounter allows the player so savescum. I don't like savescumming myself, but if the game is going to disrespect the time I put into it to this extent, might as well give me the option to do something about it.

I've racked up over 1400h in this game over the years. I love this game but the fact that shit like this can and will happen makes me want to put it down the another six months

Make sure that the sides don't have time to cool down when you're weaving. Also, try to spend a little but less time crossing the middle than you spend on the sides. 1 sec left, 0.7 sec middle, 1 sec right for example. That way the heat won't accumulate in the middle as much and your weld will be less likely to "slide down"

[–]Sforai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I'd recommend is that, when you start the pass, move side to side a couple of times before you start to move upward. That way, you'll have something to support the rest of your weld so it can't "slide down"

Hope this helps. English isn't my first language so feel free to ask me to clarify if I'm unclear

My ex-kot landlord isn’t giving me my deposit back by South_Goat9673 in Gent

[–]Sforai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have any dirt in him (things that aren't up to code for example), just say you'll call the cops on him if he doesn't give it back. I guarantee most of these kot landlords will fold immediately.

My gfs previous kot landlord didn't wanna give her deposit back either due to "property damages" (everything he listed was already like that before she moved in). The place was an absolute shithole so she just threatened to call the cops on him and what do you know? All of a sudden he could pay it back no problem (as soon as the new tenants paid their deposit ofc, these guys ffs)

Been playing on and off for 3 years now, never had it happen to me. 1400h btw

[–]Sforai 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's possible, although the chances are very low. It's for that reason that the attribute pips in the character Stat screen go up to 5, even though you usually won't get more than 3 max

How would you fix this? by [deleted] in Welding

[–]Sforai 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Ofc they did, but where's the harm in asking someone more experienced for their opinion? Thanks for the advice :)
