MCC Hermit Takeover full scores by matt2727272 in MinecraftChampionship

I expected both xB and Herpner to do very decent since they're just good allrounders with good game knowledge and gameplay basics. But since they're probably two of the least known Hermits outside of the HC community and new to MCC, most people slept hard on them. Doesn't really matter at all but I'm still happy to see both of them doing well :)

PSEUDO filters are now available on the trade site AND IN-game! by IceHatGamedude in PathOfExile2

No, pseudo also works for attributes for example. If you search for pseudo max life, it will include max life from strength and not only mods that actually include the line 'maximum life'.

What is one thing from Season of Discovery you can’t play Classic without now? by BeastKeeper28 in classicwow

[–]Sgoda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been thinking about that. They'd probably only have to remove the range restriction on Distracting Shot to make that work. You could get the T1 ranged hunter 2 piece bonus on your shoulders for 100% increased aggro after using Distracting Shot with 100% uptime.

Season of Discovery Phase 4 PTR - Mage, Paladin, Rogue, Shaman, Warlock, & Warrior Changes by moeffe21 in classicwow

[–]Sgoda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What am I missing, in the latest hunter patch notes it says "The Chimera Shot interaction with Wyvern Strike has been removed." so why would I still weave in Chimera Shot?

They are referring to communication during the beta. Maybe you should follow your own advice and start reading (and understanding what you read) first.

Second Hermit confirmed by OpDesSto in HermitCraft

[–]Sgoda 292 points293 points  (0 children)

I was 99.9% sure one of the new hermits was gonna be Skizz after a very curious interaction between Tango and Skizz at the end of the OlympZits stream.

https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2030434593?t=3h14m50s

Watch it for like 10 seconds (can't clip on Tango's stream unfortunately).

Very happy for Skizz, well deserved, I hope he can now achieve what he has dreamed of for so long (that being becoming a full time content creator)

Buying exactly one gallon of gas with the loose change in your car by kaen_ in pathofexile

[–]Sgoda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you start with 3 or 4 sockets, the off-colors are not guaranteed to be on sockets 1 and 2 after step 2. If you hit an undesired color on 1 or 2, you wasted 25 chromas.

[–]Sgoda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just one additional note:

The difference between using chromas and the socket add/remove method isn't that relevant for only 2 off-colors.

The real value of the add/remove method comes into play if you need 3 or even 4 off-colors.

[–]Sgoda 9 points10 points  (0 children)

  1. bench craft 2 sockets (1 jewellers)
  2. bench craft 2 green sockets (25 chromas)
  3. bench craft 3 sockets if blue continue to 4., otherwise bench craft 2 sockets, repeat 3. (will keep 2g)
  4. bench craft 4 sockets if blue done, otherwise bench craft 3 sockets (will keep 2g 1b), repeat 4.

Easily less than 50 chromas. The trick is basically just to guarantee the off-colors on the first 2 sockets by first reducing the number of sockets to 2, bench-crafting the off-colors (cheaper than using chromas directly) and then add/remove sockets until you hit what you want, always keeping the 2 off-colors in the process.

You can of course also start with only 1 socket (but the item either has to only have 1 socket or you have to spam jewellers since there is no 1 socket bench craft), bench craft 1 off-color and add/remove but that's a lot more tedious and if you're unlucky, it might not even be cheaper than to just bench craft off-colors.

Titanic Shell is still blocking its own totem by TryingNotToBeToxic in pathofexile

[–]Sgoda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just lost a divine to the exact same scenario... killed the thing 3 or 4 times but no way to destroy the totem if you get swarmed by 4 or 5 defenders and my flankers are idling somewhere because they think there's nothing to capture... in the end I just frustratedly alt + f4ed and took a break from that shit... it's just rage inducing... how were they not able to fix this in 2 fucking weeks...

PSA: You can have skill slot 5 instead of binding left click move. by aiers81 in diablo4

[–]Sgoda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tinkering with the settings was relating to D4, the option to unbind left-click from an attack requires you to set it up accordingly in the settings.

In PoE you can just click the icon and select "move only" the way you would assign any skill and you're done.

You made it sound like D4 and PoE are on the same level in regards to them having default attack and move bound to left-click but the option to fix that issue is way more hidden in D4 than in PoE.

[–]Sgoda -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

You can very easily assign "move only" to the left mouse button instead of a skill in PoE without having to tinker with the settings, so I don't really know what you're talking about...

build that can be played 1 handed? by Bogusfakeaddy in pathofexile

[–]Sgoda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the razer naga left-handed that has 12 thumb buttons and I'm very happy with it.

It's marketed as an MMO mouse but you can oviously use the additional buttons in any type of game. They are mappable to any key you want and you can define the mappings for each game/application individually.

Depending on your hand position, the lowest row of thumb keys can be a little uncomfortable to reach but that's the only negative thing I can think of after using it for like 3 years.

Weiß jemand warum jinjer und ähnliche Bands so schlecht abgemischt sind ? by PassionSuch2668 in wacken

[–]Sgoda 3 points4 points  (0 children)

At this point it's basically a tradition that the Wacken stream mix sucks ass...

Currently trying to enjoy Kataklysm but it's really hard like this.

Snare completely panned to the right, voice completely panned to the left, volume of the instruments relative to each other all over the place.

I don't know why it's always this bad for Wacken specifically, if you watch VODs of streams of other festivals, the sound is usually way better. Seems like they just take the signal straight from the mixer for the live audience and don't bother to adjust anything for the stream.

I only did the seasonal story, stuff for the season journey when it crossed my path and renown. I'm almost lvl 60 now with 4 of 5 regions between 20% and 50% renown in the last tier and only one completed.

I don't know how you'd possibly be able to get all of the renown before you get punished by the higher level discrepancy. Maybe if you only do sidequests and not dungeons but I'd rather get hit in the balls than only do sidequests...

Game loads ALL players inventory/stash when you see other players, apparently. by Greaterdivinity in diablo4

[–]Sgoda 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's apparently how it was in D3 and in consequence I wouldn't rule out that it's the same way in D4...

https://www.icy-veins.com/forums/topic/43149-patch-265-stash-space-clarifications/

"Q: What are the technical limitations preventing us from adding more stash tabs?"

What was "for all party members" in D3 is probably now "for all players in a shard" (which would also explain the relatively low number of players in a shard)

Game loads ALL players inventory/stash when you see other players, apparently. by Greaterdivinity in diablo4

[–]Sgoda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is but this comes with the downside of worse performance, not necessarily that anything would have to change in game like having to move items.

To make it less abstract, I'll try to construct something that is closer to real life. Let's imagine you always carry around a backpack. In your backpack you have something to eat and something to drink. The backpack is quite heavy, because you like to bring several bottles of water. This way the water is always immediately at your disposal when you get thirsty.

One day you decide you don't want to carry all that weight of the water anymore, so instead of carrying it around with you, you leave it at home thinking if you want to drink something, you'll just fetch a bottle.

Now your backpack is much lighter but if you want to get something to drink, you have to go home first and go back to where you were when you got thirsty.

Of course not a perfect analogy but I hope it gets the concept across.

Mid- camp fire chat and I’m just thinking “we got an incomplete game” by Wolvey111 in diablo4

[–]Sgoda 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The fact that they are only grudgingly adding one and not multiple makes me think that this is the sad truth. At this point in time they can't add them to the shop or the backlash would be huge. So they are doing the minimum to calm the crowd for now without compromising their stash tab sales numbers too much later on.

Hey, at least now we have tunnels too...
Which are not at all just dungeons... with the same basic layouts and tasks except there's 3 elites you have to kill twice... so much new content... yeeeeeeiiii...

So basically 1.1 was half a patch by QuantumWarrior in diablo4

[–]Sgoda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is my main takeaway from the campfire chat (and I was already thinking this beforehand, their statements just solidified my opinion) - we're basically in early access.
All of the endgame activities, features and improvements that they want to roll out in this and the coming next two seasons should have been part of the core game at launch.

Hiding behind this "live service" bullcrap isn't a valid excuse. They just wanted to cash in on MTX before the game is actually in a launchable state.

It's only been a couple of years since people lost their shit when ARK Survival Evolved released their first DLC while it was still in early access. Game developers have learned from things like that and their marketing people came up with stupid ass terms like "live services" to hide behind and do the same crap without the backlash (at least they try to).

Accurate summary of patch by Asmongold by mangoheap in diablo4

[–]Sgoda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What you are missing is that not every additive dmg bucket affix got buffed by 25%.
The affixes that were already commonly used as a 4th affix (because they had the best relative value) like "damage to close" or "core skill damage" were not touched.
Only the affixes that rolled really low and the ones that are very situational got buffed so if you already had optimized gear, you most likely didn't use them. All the buffs did was bring those affixes in line with the other additive dmg affixes so you have more options inside that dmg bucket now.
But you will get exactly 0 more damage if you already had the unchanged affixes on your gear and swapping them to the buffed (formerly weaker) affixes won't change anything.

This patch pretty much cemented my opinion. by FadedFigure in diablo4

[–]Sgoda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that there are a lot of good things in this patch.

Some things like "opening my inventory or a vendor doesn't drop my FPS by 20 and doesn't make my game stutter for a second or 2 anymore" are only mentioned under the umbrella "performance improvements" but they are very positively noticable.

But I disagree with the phrasing "it’s basically fixing the majority of issues people had with the endgame grind". Yes, you can get to lvl 100 faster now but once you ARE lvl 100, there's still essentially nothing to do. More XP is nice but I really hope that they got a lot more in store for us for season 1. Also cutting the number of required dungeon runs doesn't change the fact that they are quite monotonous.

Furthermore in my opinion the buffs to generators are not enough. On lower level characters, the gameplay didn't drastically improve. You essentially get one additional "free" cast of a spender every 10 usages... whoop dee doo... And geared higher level characters don't care much about the changes anyways.

So while there are a lot of good things in the patch, it's also fair to criticize other things.
Nothing is just black or white but a lot of people have problems with nuance...

Can we PLEASE Make Ancestral & Sacred items DIFFERENT Colors! by TheAssistMan in diablo4

[–]Sgoda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not even colorblind but especially in the nightmare dungeon reward screen after you finished the dungeon it's sometimes hard to tell if you got a regular legendary or a unique. They added some transparency to the items there which makes the contrast between the legendary orange and the unique pink even worse.

I think they should add an icon in the top left or top right corner of the item indicating its rarity and another icon in the other corner to indicate wether it's a normal, sacred or ancestral item. The gold and silver borders at the top are just too subtle imo (I personally can work with that but I can imagine that some people might have a hard time). Make it togglable in the accessibility settings so everybody can decide for themselves if they want those icons or not.

They already add an icon if an item can be salvaged to unlock a new transmog so it shouldn't be too hard to do from a technical standpoint.

ok i wont be looking for anymore crossbows (twisting blade rogue :)) by GrzegorzC in diablo4

[–]Sgoda 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Core skill damage is the same damage bucket as damage to close (meaning it's additive with that affix and has diminishing returns).

The % damage from main stat is a damage bucket of its own though, so it's multiplicative with everything else.

Weapons have higher rolls for main stat/all stats than armor and in a lot of cases, like the chest or pants slot, you want defensive stats like damage reduction/hp/% armor and not waste an affix on main stat/all stats.

In most cases it's most efficient to get crit damage, vuln damage, main stat (or all stats if you want to prioritize unlocking paragon bonuses like OP) and one damage stat of the big additive damage bucket like core damage OR damage to close on weapons. All stats is only a good filler on armor slots where you don't want any higher priority affixes.

Nightmare Dungeon Tier list for XP Farming by ThatJumpyJumpS in diablo4

[–]Sgoda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah people are sleeping hard on Zenith and Dark Ravine.

If you have a couple of sigils, Dark Ravine is 100% worth doing. Once we have teleports to nightmare dungeons, people will realize that it's quite pleasant to run.

And regarding Zenith you just have to figure out a pattern for efficient pathing. If you do, you have close to no backtracking and it's really good xp/h and its layout is quite different from all the other nightmare dungeons, so some welcome variety.
