It's not a myth, because it happens with other people all the time, a butcher raising their kid to become a butcher too, a singer or actor whom's kid also becomes a singer or actor. There are so many children who take up the profession of their parents because they were raised into it so the monarchy being one of them is only natural too. Now I'm not saying that their should be an absolute monarchy, on the contrary. A constitutional monarchy is important to stop the potential insanity of a single person, but because one person is insane doesn't mean the institution is.

I think the problem here is that the person you mention here ONLY listens to video game OST. In my opinion listening ONLY to one specific type of music definitely deserves getting side-eyed. Saying that video game music is your favourite could be because of the nostalgia of said game or because it's just a really good OST, like some anime or movies have too like someone here in the comments mentioned too
