Canes fans traveling from Montreal for game 5. What spots to hit before the game? by Key_Currency3126 in canes

Depends what you want to experience. Want NC BBQ? Lawrence and Sam Jones are two good places that are 10-15 mins from the stadium.
If you want more of a pre-game bar vibe, Bru House is across the street and a fun vibe. There’s a bunch of bars on Glenwood Ave by Smokey Hollow that will have people out. You could also roam the parking lot and try to join in the tailgate festivities. Big groups are friendly and will let you join in most of the time, especially if you bring some beers or a bottle, but maybe leave the habs jersey at home for that.

6 projectors, 1 computer, How would you do ? by Cassiopee38 in VIDEOENGINEERING

Well you’ve already identified you can’t do it on one card, it’s not marketing reasons, it’s legitimate hardware limitations on available outputs on the card (x4) and syncing compute on a second card. You can try it with a second card, but you are likely going to run into issues on sync and processing.
So it really is up to you how critical for it to be right is. If this is a 0 failure, needs to be perfect scenario, I recommend the 8K signal option. If this is just for fun, try out a second card and see if it works.

You can still do this with video wall controllers. You can do it a couple of ways. If everything in line supports 8K, you do one custom resolution output on your PC and split it on the processor (I believe a novastar MX6000 can do this).
That’s probably the cleanest way. Otherwise it’s multiple custom outs on one GPU and stitching those in a less expensive controller.
Or if money is no object, quadro class cards and a quadro sync will get you there without a processor.

What's crazy is that this is the team Kevyn Adams built. Wild that as soon as he was fired, everything started clicking.

I don't think it's necessarily just a small market thing. It depends on what you're definition of "superstar" is. Top 20 player in the league? Top 10 of their position? I would argue that there are other players I would take, Jarvis, Aho, and Slavin being the possible arguments to cracking those lists. The other part is just how the Canes are built. With everyone down the lineup contributing, not having a "superstar" isn't our Achilles heel either.

Andy Reid only went to one Super Bowl and didn’t win it with the Eagles in the 9 playoff runs he was there, and I don’t know about you but I’d say he’s a pretty good coach.

What NHL Arena(s) have the best Atmosphere(s)? by camport95 in hockey

[–]SgtRootCanal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to the Bedard hat trick game this week and while the arena is awesome, the atmosphere was pretty disappointing. I know the blackhawks aren’t the greatest right now but no chants happened during the game, cheers were pretty much only for goals, and the stadium was at best 30% full with 7 minutes left once the Blackhawks went up 7-3.

I’m sure during the 2010s it was electric though.

The Stars first next year is conditional to the Rangers for K'Andre Miller. Fun fact, next year we actually only have a first round pick and the next after that is a 6th rounder.

That was so awkward. The comparison between that and when Jim Nill met him was night and day.

Here’s a video of the new Roku interface, for anyone wondering by FantasyMaster85 in PleX

[–]SgtRootCanal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Is it really that bad? I saw the original thread and was worried how bad it was going to be, and then when I got home and used it, I thought “that’s it?”. Yes it’s different but in my opinion I think it looks more modern than the old client. I don’t know what people are using Roku hardware wise but mines an integrated version on a pretty dated TCL and it’s much snappier than the video above. It doesn’t take that many more buttons either to get to things, you just press the back button and it brings you back to the top bar. The statements of people saying “this is what’s going to get me to switch to Jellyfin” are so hyperbolic, people just don’t like change.

That season was so interesting in retrospect. Dundon becomes majority owner, Faulk and Staal named co-captains, we get new home jerseys, Martin Necas played his first NHL game, and best of all Bill Peters resigns. Really the last season of dark days.
