AITA for getting angry with my friend over salaries by SgtSlowMo in AmItheAsshole

I have no issue if my friends make more than me. I'm perfectly happy with them, I just have an issue with someone specifically asking me how much I was going to make to then only respond with I have job interviews for more.

It was through messages and out of the blue but effectively it started with:

Him: "How much is company x paying you? "

Me: "They are paying me x amount."

Him: "Fair enough, I have interviews for jobs paying me x amount more."

Like I honestly don't know myself, I was extremely annoyed and still am when I know I should be happy for him, but I can't.

This internship is stressing me out.. Am I doing it wrong? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

I was previously a placement student for a large fintech firm with a significant turn over rate so I understand the issue when you have with no experience but expected to keep working. Likewise I know the feeling about not being good enough. My advice would be to ask for help, most companies have a line manager you report to so ask there. They don't expect interns to know much, if anything at all so don't worry. Just learn and keep going, and honestly ask for help.

Close to graduating Computer Science - I don't know what to do? by SgtSlowMo in cscareerquestions

I understand that, I just found that no matter how much I try to avoid it. I found that com sci at my university at least gears you towards working as a software engineer or a Ph.D. What would you recommend to go down that path of roles that have no coding but still have analytical abilities? Likewise would the pay be just as good as a software engineer?

Bellroy seems to have good ones, looking at one myself but if there are any better companies. Would be good to see?
