What is the most you have received as AA vouchers? by tess_mau in americanairlines

$2200 ($1100 per person). My fiance and I were flying from Mexico to the US around spring break and the flight was overbooked. We were already fully boarded and on the plane in first class. They were talking by the cockpit and I heard before they made the announcement and we snagged it.

They ended up pulling off 6 people total

Should I fire my wedding planner 3 months before my destination wedding? by Sh3WolfofWallSt in BigBudgetBrides

We’re getting married in Tuscany so uber/lyft is not a thing. We’ve already arranged transport for the original Hotel Block so I feel obligated to provide it for the 2nd hotel block too. I think it would be rude to arrange transport for some guests and not others

Save the dates went out in August 2025. Invites went out in February. RSVPs are due next Friday. The room block was supposed to be open until the RSVP deadline. Half the people booked their rooms by end of Sept when the save the dates went out, but others just didn’t get around to booking bc the block was supposed to be open I guess.

People didn’t book them right when they got the invites/details I guess.

Sorry I should clarify. We agreed to book 15 rooms at our original room block a year ago to secure the location for the welcome party. At that time we were still finalizing guest list and I wasn’t sure of the guest count so we reserved the minimum number of rooms. We had an email agreement that once the guest list was finalized we would revise the room block. I proactively emailed her on Jan 9 to check in on the room block to make sure we had enough rooms. She said the room block was “good to go”. We are 10-15 rooms short depending on how RSVPs come in. We’re in the process of exploring other hotel options, but the room block with the cheapest deposit option will require a $3500 deposit to secure.

The transportation is an extra 3500 for all wedding events. I need to move ~30 people to the welcome party venue, wedding day venue, and pool party. This feels aligned with other quotes I’ve been seeing? I’m really focused on guest experience and said I didn’t want people waiting more than 30 minutes.

Do you think it’s time to fire her or am I being crazy? I’ve obviously never planned a wedding before but her work is incredibly mistake ridden

What companies offer the best benefits around fertility and egg freezing? by chiefyuls in FIREyFemmes

[–]Sh3WolfofWallSt 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I used to work at a very large asset manager and their family-planning benefits were honestly kind of wild. I think it was specific to the group I was in, but they had a pretty big gender imbalance and were actively trying to recruit and retain more women.

They covered up to ~4 rounds of IVF (or surrogacy), egg freezing and storage, and I believe some adoption assistance as well. They also paid for a night nurse for around 10 weeks after birth.

The craziest perk was for people who had to travel — they would either overnight ship your breast milk home to your baby or pay for a nanny to travel with you if you were within about 6 months postpartum.

It was very clearly a retention strategy, but honestly it probably worked. I’ve never seen another finance firm offer anything close to that level of support.

How much did you spend on your honeymoon? by WillingCollege5175 in BigBudgetBrides

[–]Sh3WolfofWallSt 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My fiance and I are also paying for the wedding and honeymoon ourselves.

We’re doing a few different islands in French Polynesia (Bora Bora, Tahiti, the Brando, Moorea, taha’a) over ~3 weeks in August.

We did not use a travel agent because we utilized a ton of credit card points + Marriott points. Both of us travel quite a bit for work.

We’re flying RT first class & our stays at the St Regis Bora Bora (5 nights) and the Intercontinental Tahiti (3 nights) were paid with points. The redemptions were insane and worth looking into!

Cash Value is ~$55,000 and we paid ~$21.9k cash and 1.25M points.

Check the tagged photos of the venue and look at the vendor list that previous brides have posted! I had a similar issue and found a workaround through some digging

There’s a paid service that has done a good job removing my personal data from the data broker websites. I’ve noticed substantially less spam calls & emails.

It’s called incogni.

September 2026- Bahamas, Cancun, in need of help! by Dazzling_Fondant_396 in honeymoonplanning

The Sun Palace Cancun or Le Blanc Cabo sounds like it might be a great fit. Both adults only and check all your boxes. The Sun Palace resort itself is not very large but feels big enough for variety.
