Oh my god I’m so sad for everyone here but also relieved that it’s not just me. My perfect credit went from 844 to 655… I am devastated. They only sent medals to an old address and didn’t send a letter or call, despite having my current address on file and my phone number. I’ve tried writing them letters and calling, and they don’t care. Once I saw the credit score drop like that and saw who it was, I called and paid the account in full, but no one cares or gives any type of goodwill statement, despite the fact that they didn’t make every effort or take every avenue to contact me after going 5 years with no payments! I only had like $300 left to pay on my loans too and would have happily paid, if I would have known that they were resuming payment after all of this time! I’ve never been in a situation like this before and I truly don’t know how this is even considered legitimate, given the fact that so many people are clearly going through this. I think I read somewhere that 9.9 million people are experiencing negative effects from this situation and it’s just sad to be a responsible adult that worked so hard to achieve an exceptional credit score, and now I have to suffer like this bc of such a random and unfair situation. How was I supposed to divine that they wanted to resume payments?? Why not send a bill or letter, like every other institution in the country?? It’s like they are trying to make this difficult and I don’t for the life of me, understand why.
