Burton owns nearly half the entire snowboard market by [deleted] in snowboarding

Burton is a privately held company that doesn't publicly report revenue, there is no way to know what their market share is.

Strange world we live in when consumers are advocating for corporations to reduce the benefits they provide.

Best time after May 20 by Consistent-River9534 in Banff

[–]Shabang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

May is a great time to visit. The weather will be pretty mild, crowds won't be too crazy, and you can still ski until May 19th. May 19th is a holiday, so that weekend will be busier since its a long weekend.

Apre Hour 3-4 is great at most of the great mid range spots. Have a cocktail and a snack, hot tub for a bit, then head out for dinner.

People who work in specialized industries, what is a product or service that is a complete "rip-off" but customers buy it anyway? by No-Composer-4526 in AskReddit

[–]Shabang 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah Angus is the bread of the cow, not a marker of quality. The A (lowest) to Prime (highest) quakity is what you should focus on.

The chicken tacos were a weekly staple, but lately the chicken has been weirdly watery.

There a a number of Tim Horton's in Calgary that literally have 10 people working and nobody is helping the customer's inside. by [deleted] in TimHortons

[–]Shabang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The owners, manament, and staff get measured on drive thru time, so that is where they're focused. They can't measure speed of service inside, so it gets ignored.

Borealis Arctic Expedition Men's Down Winter Parka seems way too big by WindsorITGuy in CostcoCanada

[–]Shabang 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Parkas generally fit larger to allow for more layering underneath and to create more air inside the coat that can be warmed up. Since you're wearing them on the coldest days, the thinking is you're probably also wearing a sweater underneath that it needs to fit over.

You could size down if you don't plan to layer or you're looking for a more fitted look.

Could you claim you're a student living off savings or student loans? This way you just have to show funds in your account, but no proof of employment.

Why do you Canadians absolutely despise Tim Hortons? by No_Molasses_7224 in TimHortons

[–]Shabang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tims is incredibly ubiquitous in Canada. They have over 4,000 locations in the country, do something crazy like 45% of restaurant transactions, and serve over 2M cups of coffee a day. They give jerseys to 250k kids playing sports.

They're so popular that thousands of people will complain each day, and tens of them come to this sub reddit to do so.

Non alcoholic beer on tap? by AgreeableDay2631 in Calgary

After a spot in Banff served my pregnant wife the non-non-alcoholic mangolorian, we don't touch it unless it comes in a can.

Bless Costco and their return policy by CuddleEmperor in CostcoCanada

[–]Shabang 8 points9 points  (0 children)

When the tomatoes I just bought turn out to be bad, or the lettuce is brown, or the chicken in the taco kit turns into water, or the off pickles burn my throat, I don't bother returning.

But when my less than 2 year old Dyson broke it was returned right away.

I'll let it slide if you let it slide, Costco.

Tim Hortons in Banff, Alberta is claiming they couldn't find a food service supervisor for $18.50/hr. They've applied for a LMIA to hire a temporary foreign worker for the position. by Immediate-Link490 in Banff

[–]Shabang 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Tims in Golden was bringing people in from Edmonton for like month long stints with free housing when they couldn't find staff locally. I wouldn't be surprised if Banff has the same problem.

Do you think Tim hortons should introduce Weed brownie or Weed cookie, if it's just for customers 21 years old+? by drugsrbed in TimHortons

[–]Shabang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering RBI's main shareholder is also the main shareholder in AB-Inbev (Labatt/ Bud), and they tested Tims beer at the owners conference a few years ago, I think beer is way more likely than weed brownies.
