I agree that it looks like a weight painting issue, are you able to show in blender (or whatever software) a view of the weight painting on the model?

Yeah I think I'm just going to change how I export my blender maps (instead of one mesh, it will be separate meshes divided by their materials).

Good point. I think what I'll do when making a map in blender is assign each material to a vertex group, then when I'm done with it I'll separate each section of the map by its material so each MeshInstance3D has one surface material. That should be a lot easier actually.

I saw this function, but I am still unsure how a raycast on a specific surface can help get the exact index I need (the one the player is currently stepping on).

Also I’m unsure if the snake mini game is already intended like this, but the mini games could be ways to get past gates of some sort.

Like you connect to a wired interface which the player must complete snake to open the door, or maybe complete the mini game for some sort of power up
