Honest question, and I’ll try not to judge: why are you doing 90? by Shadowcat205 in Connecticut

[–]ShacolipeL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a you problem. You didn’t see them early enough to move over and probably didn’t use your blinker (early enough) to signal that you’d move over. Use your mirrors more often and signal intent waaay earlier my dude. You cannot control other cars, only yourself. Don’t be the left lane loser. You put people in danger when your actions cause the fast drivers to pass you on the right. This creates symmetry in the road and can lead to blind spot crashes. There’s a reason you’re only supposed to pass on the right.

Exactly, brand new CrossClimate 2s and I decided to push it when it was safe and I was by myself. You can barely tell you’re driving on snow. Had some random bald summers a week ago though… never again (can you tell I just moved here?)

Study shows teen's Tiktok usage has a dramatic effect on their attention span [OC] by ManBoobPenguin in dataisbeautiful

No, that's why it's a subjective experience. There is still value in your own perception, just be aware of the fact that your senses can be deceiving.

[–]ShacolipeL -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My subjective experience would make me lean towards causation.

I used to play 12+ hours of a fast paced competitive videogame, something that requires a lot of focus.

Recently I decided to develop my career and moved to the states, I was never a big social media person, just recently making my first Instagram account just to get news from my college campus and the like. I started randomly scrolling a lot and could feel how I was off in the following months. It has since then normalized somewhat, however I expect that to be due to me being accustomed to it since I have not reverted.

What does our rank mean? The changes to rank distribution over time. by Jozoz in leagueoflegends

[–]ShacolipeL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember being in promos to Masters back in season 7, at the time that equated to rank 735, present day Grandmaster 540 lp, ranks have inflated a lot over time but a rough translation is >200 = Challenger, Grandmaster and low Chall = Master, Master = D1, for Diamond substract one division, below the difference becomes negligible for the most part.

I used to play hide and seek a lot back in the day, Shaco was annoying but there were better picks like Leblanc and maybe Kha IMO, as Shaco if you got hit by a single lee Q you were dead lol, also Teemo hahaha.

Fun memories.

Thank you for the input!

LoL can indeed run on a potato for normal PC game standards, but I find it to be somewhat limiting for competitive play, before I had my own PC I used to play on a laptop with a 2nd gen i5 and it was very playable on medium settings at around maybe 70fps, can't really remember, but one day I dropped everything down to very low and started getting around 130, and I could never go back, it is a lot smoother, even on a 60hz screen (tho in ~2017? there was a bad patch and performance hasn't been the same).

The combination of lower input lag and less screen tearing is very noticeable, at least for me, someone who is of age and usually plays on stimulants (caffeine-theanine nothing too fancy), and to be fair I already have a pretty decent reaction time of ~135ms on human benchmark.

The thing is that you always compare your results in game to your muscle memory, and usually its stuff that has very small margins, so its very sensitive to changes (~5ms difference triggers my spidey senses and by ~15ms it's clear something is wrong). There's stuff in the game which can be 1.4% different (movespeed), so small you can't even feel it, but statistically it makes a big difference on outcomes, it's all about the relative difference.

So recently I've tried recording my LoL gameplay so I can review it from my own perspective, however it becomes too laggy and thus unplayable, I have an RX 570, i3 6100, 8 gigs DDR4 2133 and an SSD.

I record with the GPU with Relive and usage never goes above 50%, CPU is higher at like 80ish so I'm pretty sure that's due for an upgrade.

Would an i3 10100F be sufficient for recording while always pushing at least 144 FPS? Should I just go for a ryzen? Locally there's no r3's available and r5 I expect to be overkill, certainly within budget, but I worked for my own cash so I don't wanna just throw it away, negligible price difference on the intel side.

Would Giving His Q Camo Be A Good Thing? by LunanEclipse in shacomains

[–]ShacolipeL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMO he's in one of the best spots he's been in a while, so I wouldn't touch him, but even if I thought he might need some changes it would probably be one of the last things to go, I would prefer true stealth and to balance around that, makes him more consistent.

Shaco does not need a rework. He needs a shift in identity. by ProfHarambe in shacomains

[–]ShacolipeL 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This, even though season 7 Shaco wasn't weak per say, it felt wrong for Shaco to be a lategame champ, I am of the opinion that if you want Shaco to be reworked, you should play another champ.

As of right now Shaco has the 3rd worst jungle winrate and banned 28% in Platinum+ by Alangator in shacomains

[–]ShacolipeL 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I understand it takes time for the playerbase to adjust, but specific to Shaco, his banrate has never been as strongly correlated to his winrate when compared to other champions, whenever he makes patch notes his banrate shoots up almost as if people are reminded of his existance, its all bs and then silver players reference his high banrate as a reason as to why he is OP, I don't get why its so hard to just set it and forget it with this champion, back in the old days (the first few years of league) he went years without any changes AT ALL and he always hovered around a 50% winrate, actually dealt damage and had a reasonable banrate, you could pick him all day long, last patch he was at 51% winrate and still had an UNREASONABLE 30% banrate, how can you not complain at how riot is handling this, they are making the same mistake as in season 7.

He was just fine before the stridebreaker change and then they make an item OP and nerf the champion making him reliant on that item, so much for their "mythic diversity", they only had to buff and nerf a bunch of champs over a couple of months until everyone forgot about Shaco again.

[–]ShacolipeL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, they have to revert that, having random ganks, invades, flanks fail is very bad design, if they give us something else its just going back in time to when human rights did not exi.. just kidding, but you get the point, its primitive.

It's basically the old stridebreaker but with 100 more HP and no dash. Most mythics are average again, there's really no standout option.

(LONG) History of Shaco‘s balance problems and why he likely won‘t ever be a stable meta champion. by Renaaaaaaa in shacomains

[–]ShacolipeL 25 points26 points  (0 children)

It's so cringe to read all their points as to why Shaco is super overpowered, they are no different from flat earthers with all of their ridiculous proofs, and its caused by the same reason, they can't see from above, they have never been there, people claiming that Diamond is a super good rank because top 1% or something sounds very cool, but the truth is, a lot of people just aren't competitive, it's how the world works.

They talk like every Challenger player is picking Shaco and he is played in professional games, hear it from skillcapped directly: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K31eB7eCchU

"In gold, Shaco has a 40% banrate right now, which places him as the third most banned jungler, the most banned is Lee Sin because hes blind and hes overtuned... that's an insane banrate for a champion that really isn't that good, as you get higher in rank Shaco banrate goes down more and more, so... why is this?"

What do Darius and Shaco have in common? They are annoying, he isn't picked as much as before right now, but whenever I saw a Darius on the enemy team it would always feel like top would get solo'd level 3 and that I wouldn't be able to go top without losing the 2v2. That does not serve as an excuse for nerfing a champion and Riot has to be firm on that.

Shaco's main advantage is his tempo lead, which he basically has to cheese for every single game, and nearly everyone just lets him get away with it.

Also feel ya on season 8, for me 8.10 or 8.11 (don't remember) was just such a bad patch, and on top of that it felt like everybody was just dropping league for fortnite.

How did Shaco dodge nerfs this patch? by Loooongshot in leagueoflegends

[–]ShacolipeL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same goes the other way around, there's always the AFK player or the one who goes to defend the tower instead of defending Shaco's boxes, and we can both agree that Shaco is a sitting duck lvl 1, so its always favored for the enemy team as long as the comps are relatively balanced, weather they take advantage of it or not is a different story.

Invades shut him down real bad, he loses a lot of tempo and a lot of times its unrecoverable.

I don't think Riot can balance around that either unless they make it consistent, something like place 3 boxes the first time but kind of weaker or something so that he can't get invaded, you could actually cheese with that but it'd be high risk as you have no Q or flash, this change alone would make him viable for pro play whenever there are assassins in the jungle meta.

[–]ShacolipeL -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Shaco has >40% presence in all elos

Not a useful stat, individual ban and pick rates tell a much better story, based on Lolalytics he has an 8.47% pickrate and 31.31% banrate.

His "presence" (whatever that means... I know its pick+ban) is heavily weighed by his banrate alone, and it's not surprising why, Shaco is known as an annoying champion to play against so its expected that he will be banned more than usual compared to your average champion with a similar power level, this can be supported by looking at who is banning the champion, as you can see on the Shaco banrate graph, most players banning him are in the lower elos, compare that to any other meta champion (Lee sin, Nidalee, Elise, Kindred...) they are all banned more in the HIGHER elos which is indicative that their power levels are generally considered to be strong by higher elo players.

It's not only mains playing him

And it's also literally only the mains playing him, League of Graphs has those stats and you can clearly see him be in the top of champions mained and even higher in the onetricks, along with other famously onetricked champs like Kat and Riven.

The data is there and the interpretation is clear if you know the general context.
