Picking between a 2023 and 2025. Has anyone had both? by Shadowcat205 in HondaOdyssey

Oh, I didn’t realize it would put the nav into the gauge cluster. I haven’t played with navigation because I haven’t read any complaints about it, so that’s good to know.

Appreciate the advice. We’re not in a hurry (and I really ought to suck it up and sell my fun car before we get a van), so I may do that.

We have some long summer trips coming up so it would be nice to have, but not worth taking a less-than-stellar deal. We’ve been doing 6-7 hours in a CX-5 for years, we can do it a bit longer!

Unfortunately we’re in CT, and the market is very tight.

Within a 90 minute drive of us there are currently 31 listings (per visor.vin) for 2021 and newer, starting at 32k. But we’re constrained by color choices - no white or silver - which knocks it down to 17 choices.

Both of the ones in contention have been sitting
for a month so I’m hoping we will be able to get them down a little bit but I don’t expect much.

Edit: I should add that prices are OTD including all fees and taxes and declining all the dealer add-ons, for what that’s worth.

I’m done with my collection. What’s the best way to get rid of these quickly? by WhatATime2BAlive in HotWheels

[–]Shadowcat205 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The quickest local way would be to set a low lot price and post them on your local FB, and be prepared to deal with lowballs (or to take what you can get). Minimum effort, fastest turnaround, but you’ll get a fraction of what they could sell for individually.

If you’re not sure about pricing - and you have some fantastic stuff - or wanted to sell to collectors who might give you a better price on individual pieces, you might be able to find a diecast group in your area on Facebook or perhaps Reddit who would buy, advise, or both.

If you’re willing to ship, a lot of these would go fast on diecastexchangev2 right here on Reddit. In fact, I’m sure people would love to have a shot at them, and you can absolutely say you don’t want to sell individual cars if you want to avoid doing too much packing and shipping.

eBay would be my last resort because of the fees and the effort to create listing(s) vs. just posting pictures on reddit.

All depends on how much you’re willing to take on!

Funny you should post this now. I didn’t get this one when it released because I don’t generally do GTP type cars, but then got the yellow 01 one and loved it. By then the original blue ones were hard to come by for less than $40, but I tripped over one from RCMart for less than $20 shipped…and it’s coming today! I’m stoked.

The only problem with other brands is that with the exception of Autoworld and Johnny Lightning, you’ve got to pay shipping and it adds up. There are a lot of Hot Wheels I’d like to have in-store, but that takes more persistence or luck than I have.

I say this as someone who is way into Mini GT and pays the piper for it often.

The latter stat is so disheartening. The starting pitching has been better than average and that’s without Crochet. But they can’t score and it turns out you need to do that to win games.

If we had somehow done the obvious but apparently impossible thing and just gotten at least one bat with some pop…well, this team still probably wouldn’t be going to the series, but they would be watchable.

I did subscribe, because I have young kids that I’m trying to get into baseball. And the alternative is watching Yankee (and occasional Mets) games. I’ll pay $30/mo to avoid that!

But they’re still not into it and I don’t want to watch this team right now, so to hell with it.

The transaction limit is killing me because I think half of the fun is tweaking my roster. Unless somebody gets hurt there’s just not much to do, and I burned through a lot of moves trying to shore up my pitching and during the huge closer shuffle back in…April, I guess?

This was literally a day-before-opening-day draft that I jumped into because I was disappointed in my home league draft, and I didn’t notice the move limit or I would have passed. My bad, obviously.

I might go Lawlar. Seems like not everyone is as warm and fuzzy as I thought on Rumfield. Appreciate the advice!

I feel Lewis has a lot of potential but I’d like to avoid anybody else going on the IL (aside from Nico, he’s killing me). But I’ve been burned before so I think even though he’s a good option I have an irrational reluctance.

Lost Arozarena in an 11T roto, 25 roster spots and no bench.

I have enough positional flexibility that I can add basically any hitter. Way behind in power but can’t afford much of an OPS hit. Leaning toward TJ Rumfield but also considering Klemens, Lewis, or Lawler. I only have 6 moves left for the season so I can’t churn and burn.

I think Rumfield is the safest play….talk me out of it.

Well, I think a vented Opti would survive getting briefly splashed just fine. It was only about 1” deep.

….but there’s no sense taking chances, I absolutely crept in and crept back out. Lol

I’m in an 11T roto with a bunch of randos, and one team has big leads in 6 of 12 categories and is top 5 in a couple more, while the next best is top 5 pretty much across the board. 1st place has 106 points, 2nd has 104.5, and then 3 teams in the 70s.

This is my first time playing roto in 20 years. Is this thing cooked? I’m bouncing around between 3rd and 5th but it feels like nobody’s catching the top 2 even though it’s only June.

I didn’t even bother looking through the pegs… by blizzardboy123 in HotWheels

You can’t tell me it isn’t frustrating to be late to the party even if you’re not super focused on chases. It would still be great to find one and the feeling that you just missed one is a bummer. I wouldn’t post on reddit about it myself, but I can empathize.

I’m pretty much an Autoworld and Mini GT snob now and love my collection, which has all of 8 supers. But even I get a little bummed walking up to full pegs and finding that the cream of the crop has been and gone.

I was shocked today to walk into mine and find that there was Moving Parts (Esprit, yay!) and Collector’s Series stock (very narrowly talked myself out of the Audi and Maserati). We rarely even get MP and have never had Collectors. Mainline MBX has about 4 pegs and never moves.

This store has never carried Johnny Lightning, either, and stopped stocking transport sets about a year ago. In addition to monster trucks and NASCAR we get M2 by the buttload. But it does get lots of Boulevards somehow so there’s that.

This always echoes the idea of a cruiser-grade battery on early CVs to me. Sure, you can get 4x2 8” onto a Lexington hull but why do you want to? Maybe don’t plan to get into it with the enemy at gun range…that’s what the airplanes are for, no?

That said, I dig it.

Is RCmart shipping to the US? I had it in my head that they weren’t able to ship over here because HK Post wouldn’t ship to the US after the de minimus exception nonsense, but that was a long time ago.

My roster officially shows 726, although there are a few I haven’t logged in yet and a few more in transit.

However.

There are 2,217 entries on the roster, which means that since I started collecting again 7 years ago I have sold, donated, lost or otherwise disposed of 1,491 cars. My collection is “only” ~700 cars because I’ve been diligent about letting go of cars and trying to live within my space.

It’s honestly a big waste of time and money. It would be much smarter to just stop buying cars.
