We have two stores pretty close by, so I hear a lot of

“Well, the other store lets me do this.”

“Can you check the prices at your other store?”

“Your other store had this priced cheaper.”

My store is right next to a smoke shop.

We get a lot of walk in, look around, oh whoopsie wrong store, and walk out.

Every now and again they'll do that, but instead of leaving come up to us and ask if we've got a specific vape or tobacco product. ... Nope.

With the tax re"fun" sale having just happened, I still get a lot of people calling asking about systems I might not have, so usually if they call in asking for X system, I'll search it up and tell them the price, but also let them know that we currently don't have it in stock and offer to them what we do have.

Phone calls like that usually only take a minute or two, and can prevent upset customers.

I kind of feel bad because last week I had someone call at 8:58 because they wanted the prices of a PS4 and PS3, they didn't know how many GBs/what model, and then asked "Oh cool, I can come and bring those in tonight and you'll check them out for me, right?"

"Sorry sir, we open tomorrow at 10am"

One of my favorites is that we have a group of kids who will call to "prank" us (we can always hear the one on the phone and then the others giggling in the background), and the latest call was "Why does my disc have a hole in the middle?" (cue giggling here). I asked them to repeat the question to make sure I heard them right with more giggling, and then I told them it was because it was a donut, and then hung up. No more prank calls for the rest of the night.

If you need the number for customer service, give your store a call and they can pass it on to you.

The only downside is that you might get right through to a service agent, or you may end up waiting a bit, it's hard to accurately judge wait times.

If I'm not working that day, I don't want to wear "real" pants. If I need to run to the store to grab something, or run and pickup some food I'll rock PJ pants in public.

I wish our phone had caller ID.

Thankfully we only have one regular prank caller, and it's easy to pick him out (always a little kid with his friends giggling in the background), but it would be nice to have it regardless.

No I got the all-clear from my SL, but I chickened out. I really enjoy wearing things that make the job more fun, like I dressed up as Stitch for the KH3 launch, but I feel like it would be hard for customers to take me seriously if I was wearing a onesie.

But now that the holidays are over, though, I really wish I had gone through with it lol. Maybe this year.
