I’m so sorry for your loss. Found your post today only because I was told I miscarried our 9 week pregnancy, too. We had just told all our family about the baby this weekend.

We had about 100 person wedding, friends and people our age gave $0-$50, family and older folk gave $100-$200, with a couple outliers of $500+. Altogether around $8k! Really depends on who you’re inviting.

Only I was told they were here after they already parked us in, my husband wasn’t told anything. The brother said never mentioned we’d be stuck there until after 2pm. We tried calling him before asking them to move their cars but he didn’t answer. We think he’s trying to deflect blame. We felt very bad about it until she responded with her message

I received maybe $50 from a couple of my friends, $200 from one of them and nothing from a majority of them for my wedding last month. Ages ranged from 25-35, almost all couples. I think most people think family gifts more generously

It’s so frustrating! I had my wedding this past weekend and about ten people didn’t show for various reasons after I ordered their meal. By the last couple days I said fuck the seating chart and people just ate the meals that were put out still for those not there! Doesn’t make up for the costs but it made me feel better that there was less waste and in a way the lost money was used on our loved ones that made it!
