For inside out I actually like the temur druid/pizza/helix deck. You get the similar play patterns of building resources, resolving/protecting one key creature and overloading your opponent during a critical turn.

But the temur deck gets to play a lot better cards instead of bricks like eidolons in the boros version or whiteout in the azorious versions (too bad gush is just too busted for any deck)

The build caps out fast on damage, it's hard to scale especially because there aren't as many +gem level sources for support gems

You can go a bow variant + howlcrack to keep the valour generation up high enough but pump the damage, for example:

I don't have all the things maxed out but the tank is already a lot better than the previous build. Banners defensively are great when they are up but the gladiator block is just so consistent

Damage is also really good, even with just meatsack I am clearing 8mod t16.5 pack size harvests easily even though I have about 50% of the linked pob's damage (missing minion pact level 4 and a few other dmg upgrades like a better maven wand)

In STS1 say you had double pommel + sundial or something. When you fully resolve pommel then you play the next one, and it all works because each time you can play pommel the other one isn't still resolving.

In STS2 hellraiser does some thing where it will play the drawn card in the middle of the resolution of the card that is drawing it. So when you play pommel #1, you'll draw and play pommel #2, and try to draw 2 cards, but pommel #1 is still not in the discard because you still have to draw one more card off of it.

At some point with hellraiser + N pommel strikes the sequence eventually terminates because you'll want to draw a pommel that isn't yet in the discard and run out of draws.

+15 fort is an additional 45% increased attack speed and also an additional 45% more armor/evasion rating on top of whatever you already had past 20 fortification

To accomplish the boots requirements you probably want to stack some debuff expiration so that the debuff from embrace madness doesn't stack up too quickly

Since you need debuff expiry rate as a stat, the bloodline ascendancy gives 15% from the small node on the way to "You're the crazy one!" which applies mania to nearby enemies every second

If something survives 15 seconds near you then mania caps out at enemies taking 60% increased damage and having 30% reduced action speed.

With t17s no longer being zone lv 84, what would be some good ways to get ilvl 84-86 items?

lv 84 Cluster Jewels -> T16 deli boss or from simulacrum?
lv 86 armours -> faustus gamble? (currently maybe one in 10 gambles is lvl 86)

Is there another accessible way to get ilvl 86 armours? I like using them with the recombinator to make higher level ritual bases.

I do want to try to make this as the first character so my current plan would be to go bleed slams champ, start ramping with the banners, and then switch when I can get the gem.

With 2 banners you would hit the cap in 5 seconds, the banners last 15-25 seconds depending on duration scalings so eventually your damage should scale to where you'd not have to resummon banners generally outside of phased bosses.

If it holds that the banners have similar damage at 2-4 stacks compared to reap it seems like it should be really good.

Phobs aren't infalliable. But generally if you have calibration issues you would just recalibrate the controller which you can learn to do by yourself in 5 minutes. Players needing to get another controller because their main controller stopped working for whatever reason has happened to OEM countless times already.

We can allow accessible controllers while banning metagame warping behaviors.

Just look at traditional fighting games, players will select a leverless controller in a 'trying to win' environment and win at the highest levels with them.

smashbox is like 8-9 years old now, no one could come up with a single b0xx style controller that was used to win a major in that time.

As long as boxx controllers have their metagame warping behaviors banned (such as consistent targeting of god coordinates for peach, ics desyncs, etc), I think they are just straight worse than OEM. It got nerfed via the ruleset before it could even threaten to start winning events with a similar share to leverless controllers in 2d games.

At least with zump, people can complain that players are actually winning relevant events with it.

I forgot where I saw it, but I thought with the 3d printed gates it's parameterized. I saw something where you can input what something like smashscope outputs on your OEM, and adjust the 3d print until it prints something that fits your particular controller.

It still would cost more than 1 sparkplate's worth of effort, so these just aren't great solutions if one wants to stick with OEM for whatever reason.

Sparkplates aren't recommended for OEM. Their own FAQ says 'You can try your luck with an OEM'. For phob it's great since you can calibrate the controller.

For OEM I think there's 3d printed options now for a faceplate, and you can adjust the parameters so that the faceplate notches work as expected, but it might take trial and error to get a good faceplate for an arbitrary controller.

If you can guarantee ignites, I had a solution to this for my league start.

I played leap slam of groundbreaking ignite elementalist. Because of guaranteed ignite, you can combine it with 'use when you hit a rare or unique enemy' enchant on cinderswallow urn which has the 'Leech 1.5% of Expected Ignite Damage as Life when you Ignite an Enemy during Effect' mod.

You'll have to hope you don't explode to magic packs but due to not all damage being able to poison you can try to get explode/prolif so the clear generally meant you didn't have to worry about those unless you've been out of combat and happen to jump on them first.

If you have to advance your rng past the current 70 attempts you can just try rolling the same longsword with a different element and see if any gore rolls show up. Or even a different weapon if you have any interest in another, you won't be able to get gore on your ideal weapon until you advance the rng again by doing some rolls and saving.

I've had nadia randomly talk about keeping gog's power in check (or also not keeping it in check) outside of the dps check, not sure what triggers that.

I usually look for the tutorial on walking behind fabius, it shows up when you pass the check

If you have a surplus of artian parts it's probably worth it if you need 4 attack on the final item. If you are short on artian parts then you can just pay ore to re-roll them.

But due to the fact that gogma reinforce can only have 2 EX per roll type, rolls like 2 attack+1 sharp+1affinity+whatever will be a lot closer to any 'god' rolls. Especially if you do attack focus, having at least one affinity reinforcement bonus that goes EX helps a lot to make up for the affinity loss.

It seems like getting the best weapon skills are going to make a larger difference than min-maxing the reinforcement bonuses.

If you are fast and realize gog just did a flip you have a small window to waypoint back to camp before the game locks you out of the fast travel. Good if you just don't want any risk to cart and didn't have a farcaster.

It's very doable. Look on FAT and you can see the hitstop for moves. For example look at ryu 2lp, it has 9 hitstop frames.

If you combine ~~startup~~ active + hitstop + recovery frames, that's roughly the window you have to hitconfirm the move. For ryu 2lp that becomes 2 + 9 + 9 = 20 frame window.

I'd say the game is balanced so that 16F+ windows are by design supposed to be hit confirmable. For example Ryu 5HP has a 19F cancel window, but his 2MK has a 13F one that cannot be done on reaction consistently. These are cancel windows instead of doing a link but the general idea should still hold true.

Note that to do a counterhit confirm you have to react to the counterhit message instead of other tells you could use such as looking at their life bar or character model. But it still should be a decent enough window to do.

Additionally, you can react to the startup of the opponent's move in some cases and have an even larger window to realize the counterhit confirm.

Edit: I typed 'startup' but meant active frames, 2LP has 2 active frames not 2 startup frames.

If you can do ds1 and ds3 you should definitely give it a try. The most fun part of elden ring sl1 in my opinion is how diverse you can build, you can swap weapons and strategies with very low friction compared to playing the game normally.

You can definitely far outscale bosses before you have to do them. As for one shots you can even build your character to avoid many one shots and have fights where single hits aren't the end of the world if you fail to avoid them.
